Review: There is a wealth of talent on show on the third EP from the Fusion Sequence label which has put together this six-track deep house sizzler. The Variable Club' 'Biorhythms' is perfectly warm and dynamic for cosy backroom moments and Alpine DJ then brings an old school piano feel to 'Pepe Nony' before A Vision Of Panorama zones you out on lush chords and reverential keys on 'Kissing The Sun.' The flipside offers the more dark and heads-down 'Many Stories' while the blissed-out and feel-good grooves return with Common Mode's 'Bassface.' Body Corp shuts down with the slower, seductive sounds of 'Take It Or Leave It' which rounds out a top-class EP.

This week our guest mix on Mutant Disco Radio Show is Tetsumasa a Japanese electronic music producer originally from Nagoya City.
Deeply inspired by Downtempo, Hip-Hop, Glitch, Dub and bass music in general, he started producing music under the alias of 'Devecly Bitte' delivering some full-length works for both European and Asian Labels back in the early 2000's.
Currently based in Berlin since 2016, he signed two EP albums on SAIDAN and Arboretum labels, which accurately portrayed his organic and deeply cinematic sounds-aesthetic also encompassing his affinity to the Industrial and Techno scene.

Mutant Disco Radio Show By Leri Ahel #414 - Guest Mix Tetsumasa

Michael son of Michael returns with the third and final instalment in his unintentional Margate trilogy - following in the proud tradition of trilogies like “The Godfather”, “Three Colours”, “Toy Story”, “The Lord of the Rings”, and Bowie’s “Berlin”.
The first EP reflected very loosely on the move to Margate - a UK coastal town once compared (unkindly) to Beirut, now more often compared (still unkindly) to Hackney. The second was shaped by lockdown life and a local community that was either elusive or illusory.
The third? A reluctant sign-off, inspired by the growing trend among nouveau locals to quietly abandon their seaside dream - not quite fleeing, but drifting inland in search of something else. More rural, more urban, or just… different.

The opening track 'Nature of Yourself' is an emotional late night burner, reminiscent of early releases on the seminal Paper recordings. Velvet, spiralling synths scatter throughout. 

The A2 sees Grant go on a tribal trip with the soft and dreamy 'Beat One Project' as dream-like pads collide with percussive interjections.

Back in 2017, Basso delved into his micro-press cassette collection to treat us to the first retrospective of kosmische wizard Trance. Spanning both the bucolic and galactic, 'Tapes' (GBR010) suspended time and space, enveloping us in the nebulous beauty of Jürgen Petersen's misty ambience. Among the appreciative audience for this mind expanding release was one JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor, one half of the mighty Optimo. Keith's vision of remixing Jurgen's 'Purification' for the club was embraced by both the artist and the label guy with glowing eyes. Charting a course through progressive house, ambient techno and the weirder bits of the solar system, McIvor combines the celestial synthesis of the original with some tough and tracky drum programming, turning the intensity up to 11 in pursuit of early morning ascension. A sensitive arrangement allows space for Peterson's waveforms to work their magic, while laser fire and additional fx abuse unlock evolutionary abilities buried deep in your unconscious mind. The previously unreleased, largely unheard 'Contemplation' was originally intended to feature on the 'Tapes' compilation, but fell off the edge of that flat Earth thanks to its maximal runtime. Too good to remain a secret, this crepuscular creation enjoys the entirety of the B-side, drifting through the eons via meditative electronics, delicate sitar and a touch of tapey flutter. Embrace the almost 40 year old tape's flaws and imperfections that could not be restorated and dive into the immersive and unparalleled. This is music for higher beings.
