Robert Forster, founding member of The Go-Betweens, was invited to perform a selection of his favorite songs at German WEEK-END Fest (weekendfest.de) back in 2013. The arrangements for this set were written by the talented Jherek Bischoff (who worked and collaborated with artists such as David Byrne, Caetano Veloso, Amanda Palmer …). The set of ten songs was recorded prior to their perfromance and set for a later release. It eventually got shelved when Forster wanted to concentrate on his next album ”Songs To Play“. Now for the first time ever available: A stripped down walz-style-version of The Go-Betweens 2nd single, 1979s “People Say“ – according to Forster: “I love the version. It is of of the best recordings I think I have ever done.” Accompanied by the American artist Mike Donovan (Sic Alps/Peacers) on 2nd vocals. No less exciting is “In Her Diary”, a song originally released on The Go-Betweens second last album, 2003‘s „Bright Orange, Bright Yellow“.

The Japanese songwriter Shintaro Sakamoto has been a cult hero to many out there for many years. After releasing three great albums (two via NY‘s Other Music label), German art-pop festival WEEK-END (weekendfest.de) invited Sakamoto to play his first ever live gig later this year.
Devendra Banhart, a devoted fan of Sakamoto‘s work for many years, who is also playing the festival, is covering one of his favorite songs – and performs it … in … JAPANESE!!!

Exclusively for WEEK-END Fest he is releasing a 4-track 7“ EP with newly recorded music. Comelade has always been known for his great cover versions of his favorite songs. On „Deviastionist Muzak“ he presents reworks of songs like “Billy The Monster” (The Deviants), “Black Is Black” (Los Bravos) and “Sweet Virginia” (The Rolling Stones) besides a rework of his own “Don‘t Touch My Blue Oyster Shoes“ – a song he had previously released in the early 2000s.

Slowboy had been in touch with Will Oldham for quite a long time as he wanted to release some new music of his with the German label. Finally it happend and here they are: “Conquer” is a cool and fluffy number where Oldham, accompanied by his band, states ”I am a conquer now and i always was“, while the single‘s B-side shows him from his more introverted, melancholy side. The slow jam “You have been seen“ is one of his greatest work in recent times that let‘s you come close to the magic of Will Oldham. Steel guitars are slightly floating around and are carried along by piano and Oldham‘s strong and guiding voice. An estaunishing song with a haunting atmosphere. Der zugeschriebene Legendenstatus interessiert den Berlin-ansässigen Müller reichlich wenig, obgleich es hunderte Geschichten zu erzählen gäbe. An dergleichen Historisierungen beteiligte er sich nie, die Fortentwicklung des Werks stand stets im Mittelpunkt, was Ende der Achtziger auch zu den ersten Solo-Platten führte. Nach der Album-MC „Alt und Schwul“ erschien 89 dann die 7“ „Wir Stehen Hier Jeden Tag“, die mit Kinderpunk zum Anfassen und Mitmachen überzeugt und bloß mit purer Nebensächlichkeit spielt. Rough und in DIY-Ästhetik setzt Müller dem schon bald untergehendem leicht schläfrigem Punk-Berlin ein Denkmal der Banalität. Mit der B-Seite „Sie Ist Aus Holland“, einer frisch-popligen und leicht rotzigen Vorstellung einer Dame aus den Niederlanden, setzt Müller noch eins oben drauf. Wer hier Zeitzeugnis-Potential wittert, wird im gleichen Maße fündig wie enttäuscht: Die 7“ wird 2019 exklusiv bei Slowboy wieder veröffentlicht. Der perfekte Schlußakkord für jede Plattensammlung. Sie Ist Aus Holland

British brothers Clive and Mark Ives are WOO. They have been recording together since the 1970s. Over that time they have developed a sound wholly their own, combining acoustic instrumentation (primarily guitar and clarinet) and electronics in a way that makes their music both sound like being from past but also present and futuristic at the same time.Touching upon jazz, psychedelic, ambient and folk/pop idioms.Their work has drawn comparisons to Durutti Column and The Penguin Cafe Orchestra. They have been recorded two albums, the stunning 1981 debut “Whichever Way You Are Going, You Are Going Wrong” and the follow up nearly a decade later, 1989s “It‘s Cosy Inside“. Inbetween they released a dozen cassette-only releases. Since the band has been redicovered by a younger generation in recent years most of these obscure releases had been re-released by various international labels. This album, entitled “All Is Well“ is a new collection of unreleased material, mostly recorded in the 1980s. It´s poppy, upbeat, multi influenced music.
