Transmigration means to pass into a different body after death and in terms of the labels policy it does just that, it takes something passed and gives it a new lease of life. David Fogarty aka Louis Satori has carefully curated the identity of his imprint using sounds of the past and with the name sake of the label, keeps that mind state in play. Fogarty has reissued such artists as Susumu Yokota(under his EBI alias), Drum Club, Alien Mutation, Downlink and more and this has seen these releases pass into some of the biggest DJ names giving them even more exposure that they may not of had the first time in some cases. As expected with such deep rarities given second life can only be exposed by someone who deep digs. Having played all around Berlin and recently after making his debut in Berghain we are honoured to have Louis Satori take over the Off The Record mix for a cosmic selection of EBM, industrial, ambient, acid and more. We had a quick chat with Fogarty about the label, Susumu Yokota and what he has coming up.

Jabes is a South London producer and DJ making moves following independent releases on Klunk and a recent collaboration with UK underground Bass come Techno stalwart Happa.

His sound draws upon a lineage of experimental music rooted in UK bass culture, built upon the influences of big sound systems, small dark smoky rooms and hooded nights spent lurking outside pubs on street corners.

His music is atmospheric and dense, leading to recent support from Batu who has just released his new EP on longstanding label and club night Timedance.  For fans of the label, this release comes with a certain degree of expectation in respect of sound design and tone – it doesn’t fail to disappoint.

Jabes looks set to have a promising future and we fully expect to see him banging down clubs and festivals this coming year and if this mix is anything to go by then we suggest ear plugs as standard.

This one is sick.

A Day In Lithuania

Hangin’ on the streets of the Brussels Capital Region and collecting some wonderfully weird records along the way. Man of many genres. Often seen scavenging for music, eyes always on the prize. Occasional shrimp seller at Crevette Records. Part of a bunch of wierdos operating under Kontakt Group, releasing tapes & records and hosting a radio show on Kiosk Radio.

Another talented Naarm/Melbourne local bringing heat to the animix series for number one hundred & twenty six.. quite literally, Heat Check (@amani-green aka my dear friend Amani, lord of bass & fellow deep techno enthusiast. 

Having bonded over a particularly nerdy level of obsession over some of our favourite deep techno artists, I've loved watching Amani grow as a DJ - they have played two Animalia events in the past, showcasing their incredible building abilities & class taste from bass to dnb to deep techno & minimal electro cuts. This mix is a sublime continuation of so.. deep, chuggy, bassy rollers.
