Solid Steel (13th December) It's another extended show this week as DK takes over proceedings with Part 2 of his Solid Steel retrospective mix. We kick off with a club selection from Dobie, Zed Bias & Mark Pritchard, LB, Grain and Airfrog on R & S from 2001. Then it's lush Techno from Space Continuum, Arthur Russell at the controls with Dinosaur L and Dan Snaith in his pre Caribou days as Manitoba. DK fav Cid Rim appears with his track Draw, plus Burial, two from Pearson Sound, Mouth from '82 and a DK retrospective wouldn't be complete without Herbie Hancock's Nobu from 1974, arguably the first ever Techno track. We continue through James Blake, Joy Orbison, Letherette, Eprom and The Brooklyn Allstars, before hitting classic jungle with Congo Natty and onto Drum & Bass from Ray Keith, Source Direct and Roni Size, and closing with reggae from Jah Screechy and Tenor Saw.

Cadenza Radio 013 - Jay Tripwire

Born in the '90s, July grew up immersed in R’n’B and old-school rap.
Shaped by her East African roots, she developed a deep connection to
music early on. At the age of eight, she began playing the piano and later
explored various dance styles.

In 2016, she co-founded the event label HS12 — a side quest that
sparked a new passion. She soon realised that she didn’t just want to
move to the rhythm, but to shape it herself from behind the decks.
Today, July captivates dance floors across Switzerland and beyond,
performing at renowned festivals and clubs like Frieda’s Büxe,
Supermarket, Hive, Klaus, Kaufleuten, and many more. Her sound leans
toward minimal, microhouse, and dub, though she’s likes to reveal other
shades of her musical identity.

"For me, DJing is about creating a space where people can reconnect —
with themselves and with each other. A space where individuality and
unity dance side by side, and where our true essence can flow freely —
raw, honest and without masks."

Artful Podcast July 022

Fun night in one of my favourite clubs- Mostly vinyl, but not exclusively, someone brushed past the booth and knocked the needle. I kept it in. It was part of the night, just like everything else.. The set slides between dubby textures, low-slung rollers, and some quicker cuts near the end. Pretty much how the dance floor felt that night :) loose and unpredictable in the best way. 
Also first time using the new Resør mixer and with that sound system it was just 🤤
