With the latest release on Thule Records the audience is reacquainted with Waage, an Icelandic producer who is already became a force to reckon with within the dub techno community. Along him is a new and fresh tallend name: Quantal – a name to be remember in the near future.
The tracks, comfortably named WM1 to WM4, are repetitive and groovy – a mantra for the braindancers and useful tool for the late-night DJs. WM1 challenges the listeners with its high pitch perc, yet manages to maintain an interesting groove throughout. WM2 is an wide and airy dub techno extravaganza. It slowly drags the listener in like a fisherman with a 10 pound trout. Reels you in slowly and efficiently – and before you know it, you’re being held tightly in the bosom of Waage and Quantal.
The flipside begins with WM3 – steady dub techno beat with atmospheric pads. The chords slowly crawl in, and layers gradually appear from the deep. Finally WM4 brings it home with a heavy-hitting kick, enigmatic chord structures and synchronized breath of an unfamiliar humanoid. Overall, the release is dark and meditative. It works for both the dancefloor and the mind.

This is a long overdue collaboration and we couldn't be more excited to present a brand new EP from our man, Jena's mad scientist funk freak himself, Metaboman. A stalwart veteran of the legendary Musik Krause camp, which has been a kindred spiritual sister label of sorts of ours since the millennium-turn heydays, being fellow purveyors of bold and raw dance floor music, still brimming with new ideas galore and bucket loads of soul.

Here with the Wireless Dancer EP we have Metaboman in top form offering nothing less than his finest work: "Doppeldenk" starts things off with some classic Krause bump that brings to mind the heights of the Duo at their peak but updated, like an STL banger turned up to 11 with sinewy melodic lines and that special Thuringen twist. "Hanno" follows up with a guest spot by jazz saxophone master Thomas Prestin, and guarantees to bring down the house with a storm of swinging stabs, rough riffs, and fresh-as-it-gets drum work. On the flip, "Splitit" does exactly that, whether referring to wigs, legs, or that last drink ticket - where dusty blues vox chops and a rolling percussive smack down will revive any fading floor faces. And finally, "EchterG" rounds it all out nicely with the illest of atonal trips and subsonic bass tones that the finer sound systems out there will fully indulge. It‘s an enigmatic dub techno journey –finely crafted as expected from those veterans of the scene. The flipside beginswith Waage, the mysterious dub techno wizard, who offers an atmospheric and meditative dub techno extravaganza. It‘s subtle, yet intriguing. The ambient dub techno legend Yagyabrings the release through the finishing line with his signature powerful glacial techno with dubby chord progression that has made him such a force to be reckoned with in the scene. OHM Series is the brainchild of the establised Copenhagen-based techno artist OHM (Bjarnar Jónsson) and was founded in 2021.
