What’s happening in the news today:

Samsung’s new release of its folding smartphone appear to be breaking after being used for only a couple of days. Users reported the screen flickering and turning black before fizzling out completely. Samsung promises the screen can withstand being opened and closed 100 times a day for 5 years.

North Korea has test-fired a new powerful warhead weapon, marking the first launch since a summit with the US ended without an agreement in Vietnam in February this year. It is unclear if it is a missile.

Notre Dame will be shut for six years as it recovers from the devastating fire last Monday. The estimate came as France launched an international competition to design a new spire after the old one collapsed in the blaze.

And finally streaming giant Netflix is raising the costs of its subscription service to fund its own content. Prices will be raised in the US, Mexico, Brazil, and some parts of Europe, and is expected to impact subscriber growth.
