We are proud to welcome Slowly Rolling Camera to Rich Mix on the 30th April 2014 for their largest London performance to date. Influenced by groups such as the Cinematic Orchestra and Bonobo, Slowly Rolling Camera bring an eclectic sound containing elements of trip-hop and jazz, powerful vocals and intricate drum and bass rhythms. Catch Slowly Rolling Camera in the intimate setting of Rich Mix for what promises to be a very special performance!

Slowly Rolling Camera is the new project that teams up pianist-composer Dave Stapleton, producer Deri Roberts, vocalist-lyricist Dionne Bennett and drummer Elliot Bennett. The debut self-titled LP, set for release early 2014 on Edition Records, is produced by Andy Allan who has previously worked alongside Portishead and Massive Attack. The group describe themselves as “music that has distinct echoes of the invisible soundtracks of UK progressives Cinematic Orchestra and Portishead.”

The live ensemble is made up of 7 members, who have known each other for over 10 years from playing in various funk & soul groups in their hometown of Cardiff before forming Slowly Moving Camera in 2012. We cannot wait to see these guys, who will undoubtedly bring the vibe to the Rich Mix!

Slowly Rolling Camera formed in Cardiff in 2013 and brought together four wildly talented musicians from diverse backgrounds. 

Where the Streets Lead is the new album from Slowly Rolling Camera, following on from their acclaimed 2018 album, Juniper. Colliding the worlds of jazz, trip-hop and cinematic soundscapes, their music blends strong melodies, big grooves and surprising turns of phrase, infused with expansive emotional gravitas. With this album, recorded throughout 2020, the music takes on a greater scale which includes an 8-piece string section and a list of world-class guests including Mark Lockheart, Jasper Høiby, Verneri Pohjola, Chris Potter and Sachal Vasandani, as well as the band’s regular guitarist Stuart McCallum.
