Texas Mercy started out as Jesse's interpretation of a country band with a rock influence like Drive-By Truckers. 

With the addition of TC on lap steel the sound took a life of its own, now a swinging, brooding cauldron of classic progressions, backed by Dalton's shockingly honest lyrical storytelling.
