@davidcastellani presents ‘Requiem EP’ on his new Noetic imprint, including two explosive & hypnotic originals accompanied by a deep remix via boundary pushing producer @etappkyle.

Following a string of stand-out releases featuring revered remixers the EP is armed with a rework from Ukrainian producer Etapp Kyle, and follows the launch of Castellani’s ‘Metanoia’ set via Mixmag.

Opening proceedings is ‘Requiem’. Using syncopated rhythms carried on a thunderous kick, Castellani creates a deep Utopian atmosphere. The dense reverb has a hypnotic element, while metallic swipes
and an elusive saw wave spiking in the background maintains the celestial feeling. Higher frequencies are exerted during the tracks breakdown, intensifying matters before diving back into the hypnosis.

Next up is the fiery rework from Etapp Kyle. Maintaining the main riff and coy saw wave, he shifts the drumwork into a sputtering, punchy affair. Using distortion and changing the octave of the main sample,
the Ukrainian producer pivots the original into an energetic stomper.

Closing out is 'Absentia', a buoyant and cosmic expedition compiled of jagged chord and gated synth rhythms. Hi-hats open & close throughout along with elastic analogue bleeps that evolve and intertwine around the driving drumwork.

When the sounds are matched and the ideas reach a single point of appearance, they make us feel each resonance and texture, creating an advanced guideline point in the mind of each human being in order to understand that sonority is the appearance of consciousness within the human sound for the release KV033 created by @tsott [Tbilisi, Georgia] called Intermission.
Within this new reference our dear Artists and Friends @aqui_ver [Italy], @revenantoff [Mexico] and @red_noisedj[Colombia] show us that creating a remix is also intervening in each point of sound that is created in this atmosphere.

Anjunadeep is thrilled to release 'Inhibitions', a colossal collaboration between label favourites Nox Vahn and Joseph Ray.

Lucky fans would've heard 'Inhibitions' in rousing sets over the past six months, including Nox Vahn's set at Anjunadeep Explorations, and Ray's at Anjunadeep Open Air: New York. 'Inhibitions' stands out for its gritty, growling hook that bends through an array of all-enveloping sound design - elements characteristic of both artist's solo work.

The single follows Ray's recent single 'Changing Lanes', and his 2021 collaborative album 'Leave the Bones', written and recorded with Haitian band Lakou Mizik. The latter was celebrated by the likes of NPR, Pitchfork, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Worldwide FM, Billboard, and The Times. Nox Vahn's prolific output has been supported by the likes of Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, Rüfüs Du Sol, Lane 8, and Jeremy Olander, and includes hits such as 2020's 'Come Together' and 2019's 'Brainwasher'.

Detroit pioneer Robert Hood joins Radio Slave’s Rekids label with a fourteen track album entitled ‘Mirror Man’ this November.

A founding member of Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood is one of techno’s originators and his decorated career spans three decades. The American artist and his M-Plant label laid down the blueprint for minimal techno and 1994’s ‘Minimal Nation’ on Axis was a definitive album that further cemented Hood’s reputation as one of the greats to emerge from the Motor City.

Since then, Hood has gone on to release on many of electronic music’s best labels like Tresor, Peacefrog, Music Man Records, Dekmantel and more. After a busy few years making music and touring as Floorplan alongside his daughter Lyric, Hood now joins Rekids with an album showcasing his innate knack for crafting paired back but intricate rhythms that deliver punch and soul.

Opening with the cinematic ‘Through A Looking Glass Darkly’, the album quickly flows into precise, powerful four four. There’s mesmerising cuts such as ‘Fear Not’ with its throbbing bass and spectral vocals, the twisted and off-key ‘Run Bobby, Run’, not to mention muscular tracks designed to light up dancefloors like the machine driven ‘Ignite A War’ or the robust and rumbling ‘The Cure’.
Hood also breaks things up with downtempo and mind bending interludes, including the tranquil yet spooky ‘Black Mirror’ and the beatless and murky ‘Freeze’. Each of these are aural feasts that demonstrate his vast musical pallet.

From start to finish ‘Mirror Man’ is an education in finesse from one of techno’s most heroic artists, landing on one of electronic music’s most important labels.
