Solid Steel (18th October) This week's first hour is mixed and compiled by Tom Middleton with Richie Rundle & Joe Muggs, giving us The Sound Of The Cosmos. SOTC as a living movement began in earnest with a 1000-capacity tent at the Big Chill in 2011, where the legendary Tom Middleton hooked up with music journalist Joe Muggs and West Country acid house veteran Richie Rundle to put together a lineup that connected the new bass generation with the kind of celestial exploration that Tom has indulged with for over two decades now. This developed into more gigs and now a label which they showcase in this mix with music from Primitive Eskimo, Blacksmif, Sapience and Silkie, Distal & Mite from the forthcoming EP. This sits alongside a stellar cast including Vangelis, Pearson Sound, Moody Boyz and John Barry for a truly cosmic mix.

To kick off our 2016 podcast series we’re pleased to welcome the South West’s trippiest duo Slugrave who’s ‘slow it down’ ethos rings true in everything they do. Having first caught our ears at Glastonbury Festival last summer where they destroyed The Beat Hotel with two hours of slowed-down grooves, we thought they were the perfect artists to kick things of on Sunday.  

In their words 'The ethos of Slugrave is about stopping, sitting back, letting go of the earnest need to be on top of things, and just getting your groove on. It’s about taking it easy. It’s also generally about not letting the tempo go over 115bpm, but that’s arbitrary really – far more importantly it’s about stopping yourself hurtling forward at the expense of all else’

Dubstep has always been a favourite of ours at In:flux and this past year we have been extremely lucky to find some great artists that have not only influenced the direction of the brand, but has seen our founders Tik&Borrow put their twist on the genre. After a conversation between Tik and Dr. Oscillator one afternoon, an idea was born to get a blend of artists old and new to the label to piece together what is now 'In:flux Free Dubstep Volume 1'.

Label regulars Pelikann, Dr. Oscillator, Hamdi and Tik&Borrow are in attendance plus welcome returns to fold for Ali McK & IYZ, Six Sunsets, Somah and Dystinkt.
