Sashiko is the follow up to 2019's New River. Sashiko continues with themes of domestication, love, guilt, the sacred, and the small. At the beginning of the record I was really interested in the idea that we're all complicit in the world that we see before us. That no matter how righteous each of us feels in our little corner, we all need to work for something better. That we didn't need to run from guilt or shame, but embrace it with the intension of moving forward and healing from it. The songs contain the same Small Opera warmth and love as the previous record and I hope they can find a place in your small life.
