Q: Talking about your mix: what do these tracks mean to you? In which way did they influence your later career?

A: Every track on this mix had some kind of influence in my sound, whether the drums or basslines, I can´t really specify what it is but each of them touched me in a different way.

Q: You have already played in so many parts of the planet. Where is your favorite spot to DJ?

A: I really love playing in argentina, the crowd has got a very special energy and really connect with my sets, it feels natural and super vibrant!

Q: There is a release on SOSO out in march. Which other Betoko projects can we expect this year?

A: Yes, March 24th with an amazing remix by label boss Oliver Schories! There will also be an EP on Einmusika in August, a collab EP with Mason, and a follow up EP on Smiley Fingers.

It was such a pleasure to open for Andhim at Spybar on our country's birthday... one of those nights when the vibes in the club were just off the charts and everyone was dancing so hard I could literally feel the vibrations in the DJ booth. THANK YOU to everyone who was there and to Andhim for being artists who inspire me. I hope you all enjoy this set, whether it's to relive the night or to experience it for the first time. This one flowed out of me like magic.

SmallTown Collective (STC) is an musicproject composed of two fancier of electronic
music who occupy with dee jaying and producing since many years. The duo comes from
east-switzerland and their home is based in „Wil“, a small town near lake constance.
According the influence of M/A/R/R/S, Bomb the Bass and S’Express Remo started to
produce himself electronic music. Alredy in his apprenticeship he performed his first Liveacts in some clubs. After his first solo release followed more projects like „Augenschein“
and Abgrundtief“.
The second person of the smalltown-team is the in 1977 born DJ Miguel. He started his
musical career with 14 years in several bars and discotheques and got his inspiration for
electronic music in the 90s. DJ Miguel today is well-known through his eloquent sets,
from deep- and techhouse music up to techno.
Miguel complement his studiowork with his musical knowledge as soon as the experience
and the reactions he collect at his livesets.
Since the first release of SmallTown Collective in spring 2008 on „Malec Records“
(Daredo Music) a lot happened to the guys. The Collaboration with „Plastic City Records“
brought them further releases with remixes from Terry Lee Brown Jr and licences for
several international Compilations.
At the beginning of 2009 they began cooperation with LOPAZZ from “Get Physical
Records” on labels such as Bacteria Records Switzerland and Martin Eyerers&Marc
Romboys “Session Deluxe”. In September 2009 DJ Miguel mixed the compilation
“ZURICH SESSION” for Plastic City Records with only label-owned tracks, including two
from the guys of SmallTownCollective.
Further tracks and remixes on Plastic City, Schallbox Rec., Tapas Rec., Noir Music and
Tronic Soundz were released in 2009.
The succes of the year before kept on in 2010 with further releases on Plastic City
Records, Noir Music and at last with the EP Tulun, with appeared on Tapas Rec.
With their latest releases on Schallbox Records, OFF Recordings and Plastic City Records
its sure that their way is going on and it is going to be a great year for the guys from
switzerland! Latest Nightshaper EP, with remixes by Gorge & Skai and Moosefly, was
released on november 2014 on the label Re:fresh your mind, based in Frankfurt.

Mit unseren Veranstaltungen und Podcasts, wollen wir lokale und kleine Geschäfte unterstützen und neuen so wie alt bekannten Musikern eine Plattform bieten. Das Ganze nach dem Motto: SMALL BUT NICE!
