Bop Fest Mix 04/10/21

Using some Fast Magic to speed up that bpm a whole lot.

Remix process
1. Start project with great excitement
2. Reopen project again and struggle with everything
3. Procrastinate
4. Finish

This was for Slow Magic’s remix competition but I’m just trying to have fun with it and learn. It helped that he provided clean stems.

I learned that speeding up a song by 30-40bpm creates lots of artifacts that need smoothing and shortens the stems by a lot. I struggle with finding ways to keep the song interesting from drop to drop. Leaving the project for a week and coming back to it later was helpful to bring new ideas.

Todo: spend more time Mixing better, sidechain more, vocal chop 🔪

Next time I try a remix I’m gonna try to do a sloowwwpoke and bring a more peaceful vibe. 🤞🏽

It’s been over 100 days since I dove into music and music production. I’m looking forward to what comes out of the next 100.
