October 1, 2011. Here's my very first piece of music for my "Oktober Projekt." Each day this month I will write, record and post an original piece of music. Many days it will be very short jingles. Often it will just be me and my acoustic guitar, while other days it may be a more developed piece like this one. There may even be a few full-fledged songs. Some days the piece of music will be serious like this one, others it will certainly be absurd and silly. Oktober Projekt 5 (The ACH Groove)

When I started the Oktober Projekt almost a week ago, I said sometimes it would be simply me and my acoustic guitar. Tonight was a very busy night, but I wanted to still beat the midnight deadline, so I went live and raw this time. This was recorded right here using the simple SoundCloud interface. Nothing amazing, but I like the paradoxical lyrics. And at least I did create, record and post an original piece of music today, and that's the whole point!

Oktober Projekt 6 (I Am Out Of Ideas)

Yes, it's late, but here is the Oktober Projekt composition #7. After being exhausted and uninspired last night, I woke up feeling great today. This one just flowed right out so easily. I'm happy with it.

Oktober Projekt 7

This is The Oktober Projekt. Every day for the entire month of October 2011 I will write, record and post one original piece of music here. Some will be very short jingles (think They Might Be Giants' "Fingertips" or the jingles from The Who Sell Out) while others will be full-fledged songs. Many will be just me and my acoustic guitar, but some will be fully-arranged multi-track recordings. Some will have vocals, and some will be instrumental. Some will be serious, and some will be absurdly silly. The styles will vary widely. The point is to push my creativity by creating and posting a new piece of original music every day this month. Please follow the Oktober Project. I would really appreciate feedback, so please leave comments!
