Radio promo for the Blue Planet tv series. This one, uniquely, bravely, controversially and, I believe correctly, didn't feature David Attenborough. Favourite line? Jingles composed by Tim James and produced by me at BBC Broadcast Ltd. for BBC Radio Swindon. Favourite bit - the sample from The Magic Roundabout in the travel bed: Swindon has a complicated road junction known locally as the magic roundabout so it seemed rude not to reference it. The radio station started in 2002 and, through a series of financial cutbacks, gradually merged into BBC Radio Wiltshire until 2009 when it no longer was mentioned on air. The strategy was good on paper: Swindon was urban and mass market, Wiltshire was cultured and rural but in the end the audience gains didn't show up and the money was too tight to continue.
