This pack focuses on keyboard and synth styles and has been professionally performed by a top keyboard player to accurately reproduce those amazing funky riffs and sounds using vintage synthesizers of the era including Moog, Sequential Circuits, Roland, ARP and others.

Midi Keys "Disco Fever"

80's inspired electronic keyboard loops, from Electro Funk thru to Euro Disco. Sizzling leads, funked up synth licks, deep synth basses, sequenced grooves and arp's, dark melodic phrases, soulful key loops and FX.

Smash Up The Studio presents: "Electrik Disco" A classic neon tinged collection of retro keyboard loops perfect for producers of Electro House and Disco. All loops have been performed on a selection of vintage analogue and digital synthesisers and recorded in pristine 24 Bit audio.

Midi files have also been included for enhanced versatility and for those who want to use their own synths and plug-ins. We have also included Rex2 files wherever possible. 

Loops range between 4 and 16 bars in length and are between 110 and 173 BPM with the majority falling between 120 and 130. Each file is tempo labelled. Key signature info is also included (pdf) 

All the loops you hear in the demo are available in the pack with the exception of the drum loops which are purely for demonstration purposes.

Electrik Disco Sample Pack Demo

A sizzling selection of loops and samples in classic Swingbeat style from Smash Up The Studio. 
Sweet keyboard loops, funked up basses and big beats adorn this great new collection that has been broken 
out into 8 construction kits ready for you to arrange and mix.

"Sweet melodies and big beats" is probably the best way to describe "New Jack Swing" a fusion  of swinging 
Hip Hop beats and smooth RnB style keyboards and vocals from the late 80's into the mid 90's.

This pack contains 8 construction kits, each made up of keyboard loops, drum samples and hits, and they include 
all the sounds and beats you hear in the preview tracks. All you have to do is arrange them to your own personal requirements and mix. Each kit comes labelled with key and tempo info.

All of the sounds have been recorded in 24 bit audio and have been treated with some fat EQ and compression 
by our engineers, but most have been left dry so you can add your own reverbs, delays etc. Also some of the 
keyboard loops have deliberately not been snipped at the end of the bar so as to let the natural ambience and 
decay of the sound end naturally.

Included formats are Wav and Apple loops as 24 Bit audio, and all the keyboard parts also come as Midi loops which 
have been been performed by Steve Burton who played keys on Swingbeat tracks in the early 90's, including mixes 
for artists such as Babyface, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown to name a few.

New Jack Swing Sample Pack Demo

Super cool 80's funk and soul oozes from this high end pack of MIDI Construction Kits. Slick keyboard hooks, awesome synth bass lines and classic chord progressions bursting with authenticity. Played by a top session keyboard player to achieve the maximum level of performance. 

Smash Up The Studio continue their MIDI Lab range of Construction Kits with " MIDI Lab: Electrik Funk " a journey back in time to when the best musicians of the day turned their hands to electronic keyboards to create a brand new sound. Gone were the horns, strings and piano and in their place came classic synths like the Mini Moog, Jupiter 8, and a host of others. This pack focuses on the funk and soul styles of the mid 80's where analogue synths were still hugely popular but also new digital keyboards such as the Yamaha DX7 started becoming very widely used.

Electrik Funk MIDI Pack Demo

Jazzy, funky and bluesy are all terms which describe perfectly this top end pack of MIDI Construction Kits by Smash Up The Studio. Seriously high level keyboard performances all played live, excellent musical arrangements, gorgeous chord progressions and soloing. 

"Funky Jazz Cuts" is the latest addition to Smash Up The Studio's "MIDI Lab" range of products. A range that has already pushed the boundaries of musical MIDI far higher than any of its competitors. This pack is no exception and contains probably the most skilled keyboard work and musical arrangements available as MIDI today. 

"Funky Jazz Cuts" consists of 3 tracks / songs, each broken down into separate instrument loops. All parts were performed live, nothing copied and pasted or looped. As a result of this you end up with many different musical variations for each instrument. The tracks also incorporate different musical sections including bridges, mid sections, drops and solo's etc, each covering many chord progressions. All 3 kits have been chopped into mainly 8 or 16 bar MIDI loops so the user can arrange the tracks completely to their own requirements. Some may wish to pick out a few cool chords and build their own groove, others may wish to re-create our tracks in their entirety, this is completely down to the individual and we have included a reference MP3 for each kit.

There are MIDI loops for bass guitar, electric piano, clavinet, organ, synthesiser, vibes, flute and also professionally arranged strings and horns. Each kit is key and tempo labelled, although with MIDI the editing permutations are endless, you get to choose your own sound, pick the tempo or key, even change the notation and groove if you wish. Fantastic! All of the musical parts you hear in our demos are available as MIDI within the pack. The drums are not included.

Funky Jazz Cuts MIDI Pack Demo

Jazz and Soulful flavours abound in this high end pack of MIDI Construction Kits. Fantastic keyboard performances! Also contains stunning MIDI string and horn arrangements as well as expertly played bass variations. Specifically designed for producers who still prefer music made by musicians. 

Smash Up The Studio presents  "MIDI Lab: Jazzy Soul" This is the first of their new MIDI Lab series, a range that will contain only the best quality MIDI loops with an emphasis on high musical performance! 

"Jazzy Soul" contains 3 stunning MIDI Construction Kits containing all the loops featured in our demo's. Each kit has been broken out into separate loops so the user can arrange the parts to their own requirements. Keyboard parts include gorgeous funky Clavinet grooves and jazzy electric piano hooks as well as stunning MIDI loops for electric bass guitar, played in the style of both fretless bass and standard. There are MIDI arrangements for Horns and Strings and a couple of great solos for Vibraphone and lead Synthesiser. The String arrangements are programmed for either a ready made string ensemble sound, or also as separate parts for Violins, Violas and Cellos so you can really build up the sound like a real orchestra. 

The Construction Kits were recorded with "live keyboard takes" two of them recorded with a live drummer for maximum real feel! So you are not getting just one 4 bar loop pasted down the track, you actually have one continuous keyboard performance which was then chopped up into loops, all of them different. This is the same for the bass parts also and each kit has many variations. The demo's recorded with live drums also have endings in real time, which is also reflected in the MIDI, so you can have a proper ending to your mix.

Tempo info is included as are Key Signatures and chord progression info. We have included an MP3 mix with each kit for user reference, these mixes are not covered by the license and are owned exclusively by Smash Up The Studio. All MIDI content in the pack is royalty free and can be used for commercial purposes under the terms of our license agreement.

Jazzy Soul MIDI Pack Demo

Take a trip back to the 70's and 80's with these classic retro disco MIDI construction kits. Features loops for piano, rhodes, synth, clavinet and parts for both synth and electric bass. Also includes professional arrangements for multi-sampled string and horn sections. 

"MIDI Lab: Old Skool Disco" features three professionally performed and programmed MIDI construction kits in classic "old skool' disco styles. Each kit has been divided up into separate loops to give the user full control over the arrangement. The keyboard loops include parts for acoustic and electric pianos, superbly played bass parts for synth bass and virtual electric bass, authentic synth lead hooks and solos and super funky clavinet grooves. Also we have included some expertly crafted arrangements for virtual string and horn plug-ins. 

All three construction kits were recorded using "live continuous keyboard takes" so there is not just one loop to paste down the track, you have complete and varied performances which were later chopped into 8 or 16 bar loops for the user to arrange to their own taste. This is true of all the keyboard parts and also the bass grooves which were also played "live" and split later, so you have many variations to work with. String and horn arrangements were then composed and added along with extra synth riffs and solos etc. 

Our demos feature all the MIDI instrument parts from the three kits. Each kit is key and tempo labelled and there is also an MP3 mix with each kit for user reference.

Old Skool Disco MIDI Pack Demo

Funky loops and phrases for MIDI horn sections. Excellent arrangements, professionally programmed. Designed specifically for producers of Funk, Soul, Disco and Hip Hop. 

By popular demand Smash Up The Studio presents “Funky Horns 2” This pack carries on from it’s predecessor with more great progressions, loops and phrases to add quality and musicality to your productions. 

Content ranges from lush jazzy chord work with intricate harmonies, to classic funky hooks perfect for dropping over your existing tunes. “Funky Horns 2” also offers separate MIDI parts for the different elements that make up the horn section. Each performance includes MIDI parts for trumpet section, saxophone section, and trombone section each with it’s individual notation and harmony, as well as MIDI parts for a complete horn ensemble. This is very useful as the more discerning producer can set up separate tracks for these individual instruments and have more control in building a far more realistic sound. 

All files come labelled with the instrument, key and tempo and range from 2-8 bars in length. 80 MIDI performances in total. 320 files.

Funky Horns2 MIDI Pack Demo

Smash Up The Studio presents a superbly authentic collection of 90’s House keyboard loops in MIDI format. Includes loops designed for classic House organs and pianos, rhodes, synths, basses and more! A “must have” for producers craving that more musical 90’s club fix! 

The 90’s is back! And with it comes “90’s MIDI Key Loops“  This collection of MIDI loops is bang on the money and perfectly reflects the styles and musical flavours of the era. Performed by keyboardist Steve Burton who himself played on many club hits throughout the 90’s and beyond. 

All loops were originally performed at 125 BPM but with MIDI the user is in control of tempo, sound and a host of other editing capabilities. Each loop contains the key signature within the file name and the loops range in length between 2 and 16 bars. As with all Smash Up The Studio MIDI loops we try to focus on a high level of musicality and structure. As a result you will find that most of our loops can become the musical base for an entire track.

90s MIDI Key Loops MIDI Pack Demo

Classic retro electro construction kits and synth loops from Smash Up The Studio. Inspired by the 1980's this collection perfectly captures the sounds and styles of the era using vintage analogue equipment. 

Retro Electro re-visits the 80's with 3 superb construction kits and a stack of synth loops. The synth loops have been painstakingly sculpted and performed to accurately re-create with authenticity the feel of those great sounds of the time. There are soaring lead lines, moody basses, hard sequences, melody hooks and FX. All loops are key and tempo labelled and range generally between 4 and 16 bars in length, and between 95 and 160 BPM. 

The Construction Kits contain all the loops used to make the 3 tracks featured in our demos. All the synths, bass lines, drums and FX have all been broken down into separate loops and samples so the user can arrange each track to suit their own personal requirements. A classic collection of samples and MIDI in true 80s style. Funky analogue synth hooks, grooving bass lines, great chord progressions, drum samples, vocoder hooks, FX and more. A versatile tool for creating sounds from the 80s and beyond. 

Electro Funk 80s Style contains both audio samples and MIDI files. In the MIDI folder you will find loops designed for synth bass, piano or electric piano, clavinet and synthesizer. 

The audio samples are available as standard 24 bit Wav files, Apple Loops and Rex 2 files. Smash Up The Studio started out in the summer of 2008 aiming to provide producers with high quality MIDI and Sample packs for use in music production.

As professional musicians ourselves we demand that our content is always right up there in terms of musical quality and in order to achieve these high standards we use only the best musicians, seasoned professionals with a proven track record in the music industry. To us it is always about the music, we want to hear beautiful chord progressions and clever arrangements put together by people who can actually play! This is what sets our products apart and way beyond the competition.Our MIDI products vary considerably and cover a wide range of styles, but we specialise in keyboard and music loops. Anything that can be performed on a MIDI keyboard is where we excel. We offer beautifully performed piano loops, natural and un quantised straight from the artists fingertips, jazzy soulful construction kits with all instruments performed live, often with a real drummer for maximum natural feel. There are packs designed specifically for virtual instruments such as multi-sampled strings, professionally arranged and broken down into separate instruments so the user has total control over each part the orchestra. We also cater for producers of house, trance etc and offer a number of products for those who prefer the more quantised feel of modern dance music. The groove of these loops and the level of swing factor used varies depending on the style of music. Whatever your taste, the flexibility of MIDI has few boundaries and all parts can be edited, from key signature to tempo, groove, notation and velocity, to the users own personal requirements.

Whilst MIDI is at the core of Smash Up The Studio, our production team also create audio samples. We are lucky enough to have at our disposal a large collection of vintage synthesisers and keyboards that have been heavily gigged and toured around the world, but lovingly maintained. WE LOVE SYNTHS !! This gear has been accumulated over the last 25 years by members of our team and now resides at our studio in North London. This equipment allows us to accurately recreate classic retro sounds for our 80's Funk and Disco packs that are so popular with our customers.
