Following the release of R3HAB's single "Loca Loca" with European duo Pelican back in November on Universal Music, the multi-platinum Dutch/Moroccan artist enlists his friend Vion Konger for remix duties, who puts his signature big-room spin on this Latin-influenced dance-pop song. Konger's list of supporters already reads like the DJ Mag Top 100 and includes the likes of Hardwell, Tiësto, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, and Armin van Buuren, to name only a few. The Ruhr area natives are true pioneers and torch-carriers for the big room genre, never straying away from the roots of their influence while simultaneously creating unique and original moments with every release. Italian renegade Angemi has been lighting up the electronic musical landscape as not only a long withstanding Smash The House artist but a prolific producer in his own right. Taking his sound to the mainstages of Tomorrowland, EDC Mexico and Medusa Sunbeach, he now returns to Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s imprint to bring the Midas Touch to ‘Astronomia 2k20’.

Taking heed from the hugely viral earworm original from Vicetone and Tony Igy, Angemi makes his mark in an irresistible, unique style to take the levels deeper and to push the atmospheric levels out of the stratosphere. Introducing the viscous, deeper club elements of studio work with transient swathes of synth, “Stop/ Stop in my mind” echoes across the recognisable, albeit now minimal take on the melody for this fresh interpretation, rousing up a familiarity that still glimmers with a boundary-pushing freshness. Reimagining a classic is never an easy feat especially one as loved as the international mega hit ‘Show Me Love’ but newcomer Dino Warriors interpretation was one that caught the ears of global artist Dimitri Vegas and quickly became the first release on his newly formed House of House record label, with the added touch of his production wizardry to the final mix to give the classic party anthem more bang for its buck!

Much is not known about Dino Warriors at this stage. Only that the mysterious artist clearly knows how to carve out a vibe in the studio. An iconic dancefloor filler since the 90’s, Dino Warriors version retains all of the danceable rhythms music fans have come to expect from ‘Show Me Love’ but this 2020 version features a low-slung yet rumbling bassline that is sonically insatiable – a hint of Dimitri Vegas’ involvement on the edit.

This unveiling of his House of House imprint with Dino Warriors ‘Show Me Love’ comes after a succession of hit releases from Dimitri Vegas, along with his brother and fellow Smash The House label owner Like Mike. Dropping their hugely popular ‘Say My Name’ collaboration with Kosovan electronic artist Regard back in July the trio have since seen the single score more than 20 million digital streams and continuing to grow. The last month Dimitri and Mike released their gargantuan TikTok smash ‘Do It’ featuring Mexican superstar singer and influencer Kimberly Loaiza and talented producer Azteck. On the last count the single was upwards of 160 million views on TikTok and the trending #1 video in Latin America. 

With an undeniable ear for a hit record, it’s fair to say that Dimitri Vegas may have unearthed another big release with this first single on House of House.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Bassjackers wowed fans earlier this year when they dropped their single ‘Happy Together’, reimagining the classic The Turtles’ anthem into a high intensity banger redesigned for the dancefloor. Now they enlist German duo VIZE to provide a fresh take on their single, maintaining the energy and channelling it in a different direction, highlighting why the pair are the names on everyone’s lips in 2020. The remix showcases Smash The House’s inclination to innovate and work with the freshest talent in the electronic music spectrum. 

A brooding bass growl glides between notes in the beginning before making way for the familiar guitar riff, which morphs as the track builds towards the drop. The beat is a skippy, bumping groove that is simple but fills the space, while allowing the iconic vocal to take centre stage, shining alongside the synthesized brass stabs. The main break sees the track stripped back to showcase the original in a blaze of glory, a hands-in-the-air moment of anticipation before cranking up the energy once again. 

VIZE have been extremely prolific on the release front in 2020, and clock in an impressive 12 million monthly streams on Spotify alone, and their Slap House take on ‘Happy Together’ is the perfect complement to the original.
