A symbolic record of 1990s grunge, origionally performed by Nirvana, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ is no mean feat to transform into a dancefloor-ready production but Restricted shows no signs of breaking under the pressure. Introducing a rampant bassline that soars the bpm into hard dance territory and soon raises in cohesion with the iconic guitar riff known by all. Junkie Kid continues to impress the masses after an impressive year, extending his run with this brand-new remix of DJ Furax’s classic hit ‘Big Orgus’ – giving the track a modernised facelift complete with tempo pitched up and the iconic synthline emphasised.

Originally releasing back in 2003 at the height of Belgian hard dance pioneer FJ Furax’s powers, ‘Big Orgus’ is known for its unmistakable synth melody and epic breakdown, to which Junkie Kid does incredibly well in re-imagining with his own high-octane twist. Junkie Kid aims to bring back the euphoria of that synthline and package it into something which works for the crowds he plays for week in, week out – a fast paced and unapologetic hard dance track. The Belgian dons of dance music Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike unveil an exciting studio project title ‘Stereo Murder’ with one of their musical heroes, Marc Acardipane, and have drafted in long-time collaborators and friends Bassjackers.

The single is a rework of Acardipane’s original ‘Stereo Murder’, via his Marshall Masters alias, and sees the trio of collaborators rebooting the brutal yet beautiful techno classic into a fresh version for the new techno movement. Humming to the tune of the 90s renaissance, this version of ‘Stereo Murder’ pays homage to one of the key tracks of that time and a record that heavily influenced many artists and fans, including Bassjackers and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
