Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Bassjackers wowed fans earlier this year when they dropped their single ‘Happy Together’, reimagining the classic The Turtles’ anthem into a high intensity banger redesigned for the dancefloor. Now they enlist German duo VIZE to provide a fresh take on their single, maintaining the energy and channelling it in a different direction, highlighting why the pair are the names on everyone’s lips in 2020. A brooding bass growl glides between notes in the beginning before making way for the familiar guitar riff, which morphs as the track builds towards the drop. The beat is a skippy, bumping groove that is simple but fills the space, while allowing the iconic vocal to take centre stage, shining alongside the synthesized brass stabs. The main break sees the track stripped back to showcase the original in a blaze of glory, a hands-in-the-air moment of anticipation before cranking up the energy once again.
