Flipping the originals iconic melody from a soft disco ditty into a booming festival anthem, MATTN and Maurice West aim to reignite the dancefloor mania that swept the planet before the lockdowns hit. And with ‘Funky Town’ as their energic boogie bomb, they may just have achieved that goal!

From working with elite names that include Tiësto, Steve Aoki, KSHMR to smashing official remixes for likes of Hardwell, Maurice West is a name on most big room fans radar. Arriving on Smash The House is just another string on the young Dutch native’s already impressive bow of musical talents.

Combining their individually unique skillsets and influences, the duo of MATTN and DJ’s From Mars were able to blend their separate sonic profiles in to one coherent party remix of Picotto’s classic electronic anthem ‘Komodo’. Two superstars of the EDM world combine and unsurprisingly, they bring the house down! Breathing new life in to a seminal hit in the EDM scene, the duo completely flip the original on its head by trading the calmer sections in the original for thumping kick drums and heavier emphasis on that unforgettable synth line.

At only 26 years old, MATTN is one of the youngest yet hottest prospects in the EDM scene. In her short but illustrious career so far, the young starlet has performed at Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Sunburn and various other clubs across the world, including Dubai, Italy and her home country of Belgium. Her meteoric rise to fame has caught the attention of lots of big players in the game, most notably Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack and Steve Angelo. The Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike partnership would eventually lead to MATTN becoming the first female producer to release on the famed Smash The House label!

DJ’s From Mars are a masked Italian DJ/producer duo who have been making waves in the industry for some time now. They found their initial success through remixing songs from some of the biggest names in the industry right now, including the likes of David Guetta, Pitbull, Steve Aoki, Carl Cox, the list goes on! Since then, the pair have never looked back since, eventually progressing to original productions which secured them a place in the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2013.
