The Rivieras were made up of teenagers from South Bend Central High School. The group was originally called the Playmates, but was forced to change their names as there was already a group playing under that name. As a result, the group decided to rename themselves after the Buick Riviera.

The Rivieras were one of the many groups in America that became part of the "frat rock" movement in the early 1960s. The group had their greatest hit in 1964 with "California Sun". It reached #5 in the main U.S. pop chart. In fact, "California Sun" was one of the last songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart before the "British Invasion"

Wil je net als “vriend van de Smederij" Bart Brandjes ervaren hoe het is om je eigen moment of fame te hebben zoals hij die had bij “The Voice….”?   

Dat kán!!  Tenminste….  als je ‘the guts’ hebt om aanstaande zondag (15 jan) tijdens de Smederij Reunion de microfoon ter hand te nemen en daar een spetterend (of ingetogen?) optreden te gaan geven.

Voorwaarde is wél dat het om bekende muziekstukken gaat, max 2 p.p. en qua artiesten/titels in lijn met wat er destijds in De Smederij gedraaid werd. 

Via deze link vind je een flinke hoeveelheid orkestbanden die ik inmiddels bij elkaar heb weten te schrapen.

Je moet alleen zélf zorgen voor bijbehorende songteksten, een paar poliepvrije stembanden en daarbij is iets van maatgevoel en timing ook mooi meegenomen!

Wie durft?!! Laat weten welk(e) nummer(s) je ten gehore wilt gaan brengen en geef deze aan mij door via: smederij_reunion@hotmail.nl ->> daarna kan ik je het muziekbestandje  toesturen.

Ben benieuwd! Wié zullen zich voor eens en voor altijd onsterfelijk gaan maken en daarmee hun eigen plekje afdwingen in het dagboek van De Smederij wat zondag dus na meer dan 20 jaar voor het eerst weer voor héél eventjes open gaat….

Cover de Peace Frog, enregistré à l'occasion de l'anniversaire de ma Patate. C'est pas parfait, loin de là, mais vue le temps que j'ai eu pour enregistré le son et la vidéo je suis assez content du résultat :)

Bref, coté matos c'est comme d'hab : Boosgt5, ibanez gax30, Xenyx x2222, Lexicon Alpha et coté logiciel, mon séquenceur favoris : Cubase 5.2.
