NEEDLE DROPS Volume Five feat. Rhettmatic & DJ Matman

For this mix I`ve gone way back, back into time, a time when I was sporting a finely coiffured ginger flat top and lived and breathed breaks, funk and hip hop and never went a day without ripping up double copies of the ultimate breaks and beats on my beloved 1200s. I wanted to go back to the backbone of the groove, deep into the funk and breaks of the 60`s and 70`s at the core of this mix but also to take in some newer slices of bboy breaks and hip hop and dj cut ups. It`s a marathon mix up weighing in at 2 and 3/4 hours of killer drums and grooves that I hope you enjoy as much as I did making it. It was the result of 3 sessions on the decks cut together and I don`t use beat grids so you will hear the odd slip and drift just like you would on all good back in the day mixtapes.

A picture of my bad self back in 1989 gives you a flavor of the tunes in this mix.
