As we prepare for spring and the world is healing from a harshly cold winter, we've tapped @smokeandteadc (@blinkhorn and @b_x_r_n_x_r_d) to bring us the latest entry in the BMR mix series entitled "Music Is Medicine." BMRMIX007 is a dreamlike illustration of carefully designed synthesizer sounds and deliberate track selections that use an unreleased recording of a Smoke & Tea performance at the @blacktechnomatters' 2024 Juneteenth Healing in the Park event in DC's Malcolm X park as the canvas for the mix. One will find themselves floating in the astral ether wrapped in a cocoon of sound for just long enough until the sweet call of reality is refracted back through the lens of pop memories, smoky jazz, and the warmth of friendship. Smoke & Tea invite you to get lost in the alternate reality they have created through an ingenious blend of an unreleased live recording, thoughtful track selections from Bernard and Patrick, and additional live synthesizer improvisations that the cosmic duo recorded at Black Techno Matters' HQ (https://youtu.be/k6l7W5-LDD4). Smoke & Tea's entry in the BMR mix series offers the listener almost an hour of healing sounds that prove "Music Is Medicine."
