'Abundance Of Selves' is taken from Conforce his forthcoming album 'Kinetic Image'.

Boris Bunnik has finished his third full-length album as Conforce. Entitled 'Kinetic Image', the ten-track album is to be released on Delsin in November following on from his standout offering, 'Escapism', back in 2011.

In the last few years, Dutchman Bunnik has established himself as one of the most prolific producers in many different sonic realms. From deep, stripped down explorations to raw and rugged techno via conceptual and cinematic sound design projects, he is a master craftsman who coaxes evocative sounds from both analogue and digital tools whether working as Versalife, Silent Harbour or any of his other monikers.

Kinetic Image, though, is the sound of Conforce producing without the dancefloor in mind. It’s the sound of him moving away from the past and into the present. The album has very much been designed to be heard in one sitting, as a complete experience that moves away from regimented 4/4 beats and into slower, more surreptitious tempos.

The result is an all consuming sonic journey of intriguing and inspiring sounds that range from full on cerebral excursions into vast open spaces that throb invitingly (Scientific Trajectory) to underwater daydreams that suspend you deep in an ocean as various mycobacterial details float by. There’s also more industrial sounding fair that depicts a desolate warehouse in perennial decay (Semantic Field) and mysterious echo chambers that spread out all around you as celestial light beams and haunting melodic ripples gently float by as per the excellent Temporary Reversals.

An aquatic vibe pervades – no doubt a side effect of recent projects under other monikers – and the title itself relates to the fact that Conforce wanted to make moving images and art that evolve and unfold like passing landscapes. He sure has done that, because Kinetic Images is like an imaginary soundtrack to the last days of Atlantis… it sucks you in, it churns you about and it makes for music that consumes your whole conscious and rewards it with very real sonic imagery.

As is always the case with this label, the album comes with bespoke artwork from Dutch designers Graphic Surgery who are inspired by “urban environments” and “experimental electronic music from the 1990’s”. Created using an analogue spray paint/stencil technique, each 'box' or 'step' is an original image on paper and gives rise to the aesthetic of minor failures. As such, the repetitive and monochromatic design they have come up with for Kinetic Images is both structured and architectural yet dynamic and fluid at the same time. Completed with crisp typography and luxurious amounts of negative space, it’s artwork as considered as the music it conceals.

Hey people. Today is very special for me, in so far as it's the first birthday of the Stellar Transitions project and, by the way, of the Stellar Series. So I would like to thank all the people and artists involved in this project, thank you for your investment, for all this incredible music, for all these great artworks and visual arts, as well as for all these feedbacks and compliments about the channel, so THANK YOU <3 Also, the podcast that I present to you today marks the first 24 hours of music published through the Stellar Series. This is what we call a real musical journey...

And I have the honor to publish a stunning and mesmerizing podcast by the talented Sanjib.

Since 2015, the french techno producer Jibis shows us a different side of his face, called Sanjib. A side-project oriented to a different way to listen music, like a travel. An almost spiritual project, seeking to open our senses, to make the music feel differently. 

After 3 EP's released on Lett Records and Warok Music, Sanjib published in 2018 his first long-format production "From Earth to Heaven". Receiving many enthusiastic messages from artists on the electronic scene, the 11 tracks follow a guideline in a mixed version of one hour. 

In a register between Dub-Techno and Ambient, he mix atmospheres full of emotions and elegance. Sometimes dark or more enlightened, each piece of Sanjib takes us into a full world of authenticity and sincerity.

This musical trip is a perfect example of what Sanjib has to offer under this alias : as deep as contemplative, as aquatic as spatial, the mix holds us in suspense like a real inner journey, as if we let ourselves be transported by the winds towards a mysterious horizon.

Extremely pleased to be welcoming McGregor to my recently launched Next Of Kin mix series. His productions are as visceral and evocative as they are varied and striking. I had the pleasure of being sent a few of his unreleased tracks and immediately fell in love with his textural exploration and unique approach to creating club ready sounds. I opened the last Next Of Kin mix with one of my favourite pieces from that collection, ‘A Swathe Of Drums’. A delicate ambient piece that sporadicly builds, subtly writhing it’s way through soft pads and grating glitches. 

As well as his own productions, he runs Haar, a night based around sensory deprivation. With absolutely minimalist lighting, Haar aims to create a heightened  experience and connection for its dance floor patrons. The night is developing and expanding its concepts, flexing creative muscles and looking forward to the future, with some new projects in the pipe line.  

The mix McGregor has recorded is indicative of his emerging sound. Abundant in texture, hypnotic atmospherics, stylistic exploration and a few teaser unreleased tracks from the man himself thrown in.

Next Of Kin: McGregor 002

Getting lost is an art. Losing oneself among the winding streets of an unexplored town or losing oneself to an overwhelming sensation requires one to let go. To forget. To not look forward. To not seek. To not pay attention. To stop time. To disappear. For a music lover, getting lost in the music is a sacred ritual; it's a conjuring tricking that pushes the listener from their listening chair and into the universe created by the artist. 
Bas Grossfeldt's Lost in Sensation is perfectly named: you start the track in a listening chair, with pads, percussion, and other elements softly flowing into your ears and then…woosh…elements disappear…your chair - gone…your stereo - kaput..your ears - cant feel them. You will just find yourself floating, along with the music, blissfully lost. Yes, it's that kind of a track. Give it a whirl but don’t schedule anything after the track: you wont make it. Expect to be lost and expect to enjoy the disappearance.
