88uw has rapidly gainded attention as a worldclass producer with a modern take on dark driving techno – remarkably he’s only been releasing music since 2010 but his impressive discography already includes releases on Synewave NYC, Gynoid audio, Backwater Community Recordings, Naked Lunch and more. His love of techno has been cultured from years before making a name for himself DJing accross Germany and especially in his hometown Hamburg, where his own OpenAir party series “Grenzgaenger” has found great popularity with his persistent sets in the morning hours often continuing until noon and beyond. But of course his dark, driving sets are also pefectly at home at night in a club or warehouse.

Erik Luebs is a US-born musician and sound designer based in Japan. Eschewing typical genre tropes, Luebs approaches techno with a playfully disruptive technique, reinterpreting the fundamentals using built-from-scratch patches and labyrinthine sequencing. While the labor-intensive process is inspired by a wide range of luminaries such as Mark Fell and Rrose, the resulting music is firmly tied to the dance floor.

Luebs engages in minimal promotion, focusing his efforts instead on producing a series of monthly singles on Bandcamp. Through word of mouth, his unconventional approach to dance music has led to releases on labels such as The Bunker New York, Nous'klaer Audio, performances at DJ Nobu's Future Terror party in Japan and at Draaimolen Festival in Holland.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.

The Bunker Podcast 235 comes from @erikluebs. This is a live set recorded in Milan on March 28 at the party Acquario.

Luebs released an EP on The Bunker back in 2021, and has since released on DJ Nobu’s Bitta label (@djnobu_bitta), and @nousklaeraudio. He also has an upcoming release on the legendary @kompakt imprint.

Erik will be playing an ambisonic surround sound set for a horizontal audience at Going In at Reforestor’s Laboratory in Brooklyn this Friday, and an extended sunrise dancefloor set at The Bunker’s takeover of @nowadaysnyc Nonstop on Sunday morning.

"This set was recorded at dawn on a Sunday morning, closing out a long day of incredibly inspiring music. I hadn’t gone to bed yet and was so locked into the sound that by the time I started playing, I was already deep in a trance. I took over from Formant Value & Simone Bauer’s live set, picking up the momentum where they left off, then gradually brought the BPM down, leaning into psychedelic textures and trance-laced rhythms.

Those two hours flew by - we were all locked in. It’s a rare kind of magic to do what you love in a place like Refractor, where most artists stay for the whole weekend to immerse themselves in the community and support each other. Music has this way of creating deep connections, and you could feel that throughout the festival. We were part of something unique.

And the crowd... what can I say. Even after a full day of dancing, they stayed with me through the entire set, joining me on the sonic journey I was crafting to carry us into the morning."

Swiss-born, London-based artist TSUNIMAN has gracefully imprinted the London scene with their spellbinding selections from the underground, spanning raw trance, spacey techno, tribal rhythms, and progressive delights. TSUNIMAN's sound alchemy merges dark, hypnotic elements with ethereal vibrations, creating otherworldly soundscapes that captivate the senses. A resident at Klub Verboten and a regular at FOLD's UNFOLD party, TSUNIMAN has graced the decks at renowned institutions from Berghain's Säule to Macadam.

When OK EG enters Varden it’s 8:30PM on Sunday. It’s been a slow and steady build during the day, much slower than the day before, people have been given time to rest properly from a late night on Saturday. This is the journey. The ebb and flow of the forest. It’s their job to get the crowd going for the last couple of interval sprints. They are well rested and ready.

OK EG’s expansive sound is deep and diverse. Their compositions display a range that shifts between delicate, textural soundscapes, and spiralling, mesmerizing, mind-trip techno.

They first went to Monument festival in 2024, taking a break from a residency at EMS in Stockholm to spend a weekend in the forest. They brought a field recorder with them and spent time on the riverbank recording the sound of stones and water.

And listen to this level of dedication; while preparing for their live set in 2025, they used those recordings to write a closing track called Monument Stone. This is what they said about it. ”In the moment of performing it at the festival, we felt that everything came together. The crowd, the music and the site connected and it happened just as we’d imagined it.”

During their set day turns to dusk. We transition together, ready for the night - the sound, nature, forest and lights. Hand in hand.

We have been maintaining the portal between universes continuously over the years since the discovery. The existence of the twin universe made it possible for us to release the infamous material collected, entitled the “Mirror Universe albums”.
Last week our technicians discovered a signal that is believed to originate from a 3rd, yet unknown universe. The sonic waves coming from this zone are deeply disturbing. Unfortunately, the only complete session allowed us to record no more than 3 minutes from this mysterious place. We make this sound wave available to the public today.
