Captured in the immersive cocoon of the Hypnose Room during the 2023 edition of La Nature, this debut release on Fleur Sauvage is a raw transmission of Katatonic Silentio’s improvisational live ritual.

Split into four parts across two 12” records, this work moves between experimental abstraction, textured noise, and cinematic ambient. Tension runs like a thread through each piece—sometimes humming beneath the surface, sometimes rupturing into visceral sonic peaks that leave you breathless. Deep low-end pulses and granular ruptures twist through fleeting moments of stillness, creating a sense of instability that is both electrifying and intimate.

The recording documents more than a performance—it holds space for something elemental, unpredictable, and deeply embodied. As always with Katatonic Silentio, the sound is not just heard—it is inhabited.

If you were to leap across the UK's narrow channel you would stand to face a mighty expanse of dirt and mountain, woodland and bog. To find our latest guest mix venturer, traversing this gargantuan continent would be your only option. After mile after mystic mile you'd finally flop upon an ocean, vast and blue - and further still, beyond the fleeing horizon, lies an island, green and pure.

Here you would find all manner of audible delights, from DJ Presha's infamous, subterranean Samurai Music to the stretched horror-scape sound design of the obscure drone/ambient producer known as Fis. Our latest Mix the Belt warrior is from this very island - 'boom' production in hand - and it turns out that his illest of skillz on the deckles are just as naughty.

From UVB-76 Music’s fractal personnel rises Karim Maas. A familiar face behind a new mask, Maas, one of the sonic panjandrums at the core of the labels sound creates aural experience that bleeds between genre and tone with striking ease.

Explicitly undefinable by genre, Maas employs a recurring sound palette that binds his compositions together as a cohesive body of work which is conducive in series. As one-third of Ruffhouse and a founding member of production outfit 4 6 2 5, Maas’ obsession with hardware and outboard production kit is demonstrated by the warmth, body and sheer power of his work.
