Le Mat

This is a utilitarian demo of the new Metasonix R-56 Vacuum-Tube Reverb module. All sounds come from the Metasonix D-1000 Vacuum-Tube Drum Machine and the R-56.

Starting with a unaffected Mix Output feed of the D-1000 going straight into my recording device, I build the beat until all 4 voices are used. I then switch the D-1000 signal (via Intellijel's Mutamix) to route the D-1000 through the R-56, recording the Mix Output. The settings for the R-56 start with the Input Level at -10dB and the Dry Level at 0dB. The Wet Level of the R-56 is then slowly raise to Max followed by the Feedback level slowly raised to max. At this point I mute the D-1000's signal with the Mutagen and let the springs of the R-56 go crazy. The signal is then returned but with the R-56 Dry Level at -oodB to hear the Wet Level only. I then slowly raise the Dry Level and Input Level until things get crazy again. At the end, the Run of the D-1000 is switched off bringing a decaying scream of feedback from the R-56 as the signal fades.

Torus of Zeta

A multilayered improvisation beginning with an amplified hum from a vacuum tube drum machine sent through a tube reverb and ending in a cacophony of sax, vocals, drum machine, and more drones and feedback.
