When the nightcall remix revealed itself it occurred to me that the market is a bit saturated with french electro and nu disco remixes (especially my catalog) and in light of my appreciation for what Kavinsky does I decided it's time to go back and have a 1984 top ten boogaloo.
So this track is for all the children of the eighties who has the homecoming nostalgia etched onto their 8 tracks, who were educated on the complexities of patriotism by Saber Riders, to whom the word Ewing actually means something and who has license to ask ... who killed JR?

Our Heritage also known as "the braai song" was composed and published as an anthem for National Braai Day in South Africa by Die Heuwels Fantasties featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir. 
In an effort to widen the demographic of persons to enjoy this infectious little tune Who Killed JR? created a fresh new french electro outfit for this gem and the reaction was beyond what anyone expected.

The crux here is that a new version of a widely loved single is going in the album. So the obvious choice was to remix this nostalgic masterpiece in a style which the fan will find accessible and familiar but with a healthy dash of Who Killed JR-ness which at all times respects the tone which one might expect of a TDCC album.
In short I felt it had to be a little indie-meets-JR gem worthy of featuring in an album (as opposed to a DJ set).
