Brooklyn, NY - Label head SPF 50 returns to Professional Music with a five-track EP of propulsive, dub-infused material. This record delves deep into our moody, atmosphere-driven take on the dance floor, undulating between straight four-on-the-floor energy, heavy breakbeat science and euphoric ambience. Swung layers of rhythm gel with misty chords and 808 bass pressure, riding the line between 2-step excitement and hypnotic, long-form arrangements. This is introspective body music, steeped in the sonic worlds of UK bass, looped 90’s techno and grainy dub.

The main thing is to believe in yourself and become helpless, like children. Because weakness is great, and strength is negligible. When a person is born, he is weak and flexible, and when he dies, he is strong and callous. When a tree grows, it is gentle and flexible, and when it is dry and hard, it dies. Montreal's ISLA presents 'AE' - two 12"s of rhythmic hypnosis from the eXquisite CORpsE related project, XqST (Robbert Heijnen and Debbie Jones). AE logic symbols that stand for "For All" and "There Exists" is a deep and meditative journey moving further into the more abstract territories that Robbert and Debbie previously explored with eXquisite CORpsE.
Most of the material on the record is selected from improvisations Robbert and Debbie recorded in their home studio in Vancouver, BC during 2003, except for "SDLY" which was recorded in the Netherlands in 1996.
