Crowbar’ is a collaboration between Redtenbacher’s Funkestra, Horn House and the Masterlink Sessions. This is the penultimate digital single before the album FUNKOPIA lands on Oct 3.

A muscular New Orleans–inspired groove with burning solos and tasty funk riffs. Pure energy and groove with Carter Arrington’s raucous guitar solo, Ross Stanley’s Hammond fire, and plenty of Horn House oompf.

Originally titled ‘Jive Detector’ (a phrase from Dr John’s biography Under a Hoodoo Moon), the tune briefly travelled via ‘Major Arcana’ before James Welch at Masterlink Productions nicknamed it ‘Crowbar’ – and the name stuck.

'The Lamb of Funk' was born out of an inspired jam at Masterlink Productions after a long day of sessions. It’s a groove-heavy, muscular opener for FUNKOPIA, featuring Horn House (Nichol Thomson, Tom Walsh, Blaeme Grevins), guitarists Carter Arrington and Simon Peter King, and Jim Watson on a fiery organ solo. For me, it captures exactly why I love making music—brilliant players coming together to create something more than the sum of its parts.
