Smooth 626 is a independent Hip-hop/Kwatio artist 
from Taylors Halt, Pietermaritzburg. 
He has been rapping since 2005 and in 2006 he started a group (Triple S) with two friend, General &  Micky who are also from Taylors Halt, with the Song "262" as their first single as a group. 

Smooth has worked with producers from "Topside Connection", including Black Ice (Technics Records) and Nkinga (Foreal Records) in which he was part of a compilation of Hip-Hop music mixtape "Topside Connection" featuring a number of MC's from Landskop (PMB). 
That led him to realise his first solo project call The Up rise (mix tape) in 2010.

He's biggest influences in the music industry are 50cent, Pro Kid, Jay-Z, AKA just to mention a few 

2011 he released his second offering call The Dreamer (mix tape) was released working with his good friend Seapour of (Soulistics sounds). 
Smooth 262 music is about sharing a positive message through Hip-Hop/Kwatio and to encourage others who believe in influencing the industry in a more positive way. 
He has performed all over KwaZulu-Natal( South Africa) , in shows such as Taylor's G3 Show, Elandskop Shows (Ntomela Hall), Howick & PMBurg City Hall are some of the evants that he has participated in through. 

The Next Step EP in 2015 was his third  project and in this project he was working with the Beat-Maker/Producer Seapour (Soulistics sounds ) who is also based in Taylors Halt. The First Single tittled "Hustler" became available on his Facebook, soundcloud pages (Smooth 626), Reverbnation, slikouronlife.
