SMYTHS pres. Megamix Of The 90's (No Time To Waste - Part 3)

Before I became SMYTHS, my alias for hardstyle productions was "Xiphias." In the beginning, I organized hardstyle events with some friends under the name "Gas Op Die Lollie." In my hometown, we hosted many events at various locations, each party was bigger than the one before. Eventually, we went our separate ways, bringing an end to a hectic but fun era.

After those events, I launched my own weekly live radio show and became the co-owner of an online hardstyle station. I created hardstyle yearmixes in 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2011, which were broadcast at the end of each year. In 2006, I made a 79-minute yearmix featuring 81 of the best tracks from that year. The 2006 Yearmix blends Jumpstyle and Hardstyle into 78 minutes of pure energy.

Back in the day, I was part of organizing charity events to raise money for the KWF, a foundation fighting cancer. In the 2016 edition, I got the chance to take over the mainstage with a full-on mashup and lightshow. Right between the headliners, I dropped 16 minutes of pure chaos: the biggest anthems of that era, raw and hard, turned into a nonstop light-and-sound explosion.

It wasn’t just music. It was madness with a mission.

This second mix in the series is a full-throttle blend of hard house, trance and hard trance.
Back in the days when I practically lived on the dancefloor these were the tracks that defined my nights out. I had only just started DJ’ing and my record collection was still small, but somehow I managed to pull together this high energy, heavy-hitting set. It’s a true reflection of that era of my life, a time I look back on with a smile and with music I’m always excited to hear again.
