Fresh out of the nest, our latest release comes from the upstart German/English combination called, Maximono. The Hanover/London based protagonists Sebi and Nick come correct, armed with bouncing basslines and erupting big room aesthetics on “Sorry,' their debut release with the DIRTYBIRD family.  

This weirdo A/B side was one of the main highlights of Claude VonStroke’s recent epic set at the famed Desert Hearts festival up in the cold mountains of Southern California. On the lead track “Sorry,” a hard-ass kick drum sets the pace before a descending drop reveals oscillated, whistling melodies and skipping marching beats, making way to a jittery breakdown.  It’s hard to imagine making these tracks without being slightly insane, with razor sharp square-wave bass attacking the feet with vigour and funked-out energy. 

On the flip, 'So Hot', winding drums and bleeping FX create an off kilter booty rhythm, while a sassy vocal stab proclaims it's 'so hot!,' before the drop brings a cheeky, chirpy bottom heavy wobbler, flanked by neuron tingling melodic lines. 

It's all in a days work for us here  - and unlike young Maximono, we're NOT sorry for unleashing this latest beast. Enjoy!

Making his return to the label in blistering fashion, Italian talent Ettore Pagani is joined by fellow countryman I.g.n.a., as they deliver their ‘Come Back’ EP. Boasting two originals and a remix from Midlands-based artist J Matin, the EP comes equipped from wall to wall with archetypal Libero goodness.

Leading the way, ‘Come Back’ wastes no time in unleashing the pounding low-frequency sub-bass that drives the track forward. Shuffled rhythm and offbeat percussive licks give it added flair and pave the way for its climatic transitions - setting the stage for some hard-hitting drops.

Delivering his impressive spin on the original, J Matin’s remix of the title track fuses a distinctive UK Deep Tech signature with that hypnotic Italo-groove. The subtle addition of rave-inspired sounds gives the remix an effective element of surprise, adding to the track’s already enjoyable combination of flow and character.

Completing the release, another robust roller in the form of ‘Wanna Be’. Again keen to get right into the action, the track exhibits upbeat gusto, tonal percussion and a captivating soulful vocal. Very much a track with a wave to hop on and ride from start to finish, it’s many peaks and troughs make it a memorable addition to any playlist and a real crowd-pleaser for peak-time dancefloors.

UK based DJ and producer, ODCEE, makes his debut on Strangelove this August with his brand new, 'Loop Seizure' EP. Since kickstarting his career in early 2019, he has since gained support from some of the most renowned names in the industry and with an impressive release catalogue to date on labels including Repopulate Mars, CUFF, Roush and Dusty Grooves, it's easy to see why the buzz around him is escalating. The 'Loop Seizure' EP offers the perfect blend of rattling hi-hats, warped synths, hypnotic vocal chants from Cami Jones on the lead track and wobbly acid bass lines that sit nicely alongside punchy drums and a grooving low-end. ODCEE is most certainly a name to watch out for in 2020.
