I gave this mix a different approach from the traditional DJing rules, and created a 55 minutes long story in Ableton.
I juggle from 2 up to 3 tracks simultaneously and when needed the pitch is changed to make them match in key.
Some basslines and synths out of tone in the mix process are fixed by changing their notes to flow in a new universe.
Almost everything is edited. Structures have been changed, some parts removed or replaced to create something that depicts my vision, and makes the whole experience harmonious.
Basslines, drum rolls and vocals have been taken from their original sources and positioned in different areas. I've also incorporated small extracts of tunes: intros, breakdowns or just few bars have been arranged all along in order to supplement a fresh introduction for the listener.
As i want to promote some of my favorite artists and friends with this mix, it was important for me to respect their work, and still manage to uphold and convey the essence of their productions.
With these mashups i intend to take you into a new, and hopefully noiiiiiice musical journey :3
