Here is a little mix i put together in celebration for Earth Day 2021 featuring some of my favorite producers from around the globe. Here's the recording of my set, which was around 3pm at this beautiful peninsula on the river in the warm sunshine in Eugene, Oregon. It was more of a lounge atmosphere for the first part of the set (not dancy) and then people started dancing later in the set.

Vibes were AWESOME on this day, we are extra stoked on how this turned out. So grateful for my friends and nature!

I have been sitting on this mixtape for a little while now but decided, the sun is shining, it's time for some new music.

This mix is inspired by a simple concept: some tunes I love reimagined in a new context cumbiero. As I was finishing my last EP Cumbias Imaquinarias (https://elbuho.bandcamp.com/album/cumbias-imaquinarias-ep) I  went back to some Cumbia roots and decided to make this slightly mad mixtape of all sorts of music with Cumbia as the thread running through the mix. Everything from Manu Chao to Burial ;)

Rootbound 2021

What is originality in music anymore? It's something I've struggled with as a producer and DJ for much of the past 10 years. As a producer I've pretty much given up on sounding original, but as a DJ I've always tried to find music that sounds original or at least attempts to do so. When it comes to dance floor music I've found it nearly impossible to find music that truly has an original sound to it, but I've been finding all sorts of abstract and eclectic Electronica and random tracks here and there that to me really feel like they're doing something different or going Against The Grain if you will....

When two of the worlds best electronica/downtempo producers and DJs, Bluetech and Dj Maggie respectively asked me to create a set for their streaming show Holotropic Happy Hour I knew this was the perfect opportunity to finally put together a set of these tracks! I hope you enjoy the journey!

After a week of hard-out trance & techno at Boom Festival in Portugal, it was becoming clear that people were desperately in need of some proper reggae & beach vibes! The Funky Beach stage is awesome - beach action right by the lake, hidden from main stage view & with its own cocktail bar and icecream shack right by the water.  People dancing, sunbaking, laughing, drinking, splashing in  the water - beautiful vibes at Boom. 

It's a set of mostly modern reggae, starting very chilled and building up slowly but steadily. There's some of my own riddims & exclusive mixes & dubs, alongside fresh cuts from Kabaka, Chronixx, Jesse Royal, Randy Valentine, Beenie Man, Burro Banton, Sizzla & plenty more. I also had to include a few classic riddims in there (Sun Is Shining & The Drop Leaf for example). Pure goodness & positive vibes here - turn it up, lay back in the sun & enjoy.
