Khanvict - Akhiyan

Khanvict returns to his roots with ‘Your Love’. After a big year in which the viral success of his song ‘Closer’ saw millions of streams, a placement in Disney’s Ms Marvel series and a nomination for the Prism Prize, ‘Your Love’ sees the Pakistani-born Canadian producer release the very first track he ever wrote. Exploring the fragility of love and longing,  the song is a re-imagination of a classic Punjabi folk melody by Noor Jehan, and was originally inspired by the radical build and drop treatment of Indian super producer Nucleya. Generations of Khanvict’s family have known and loved this melody, and with a busy summer of festivals and parties ahead of him (including multiple sets at Burning Man), this feels like the right moment for him to connect with his roots and connect to the future. The video, directed by acclaimed LA-based Sundeep Morrison, explores the universality of love - and celebrates love in its myriad forms.

This is a playful song about a young woman celebrating her youth and freedom.
Literally speaking, she is innocently pondering about how the sound of her new anklet resonates through the streets when she walks through them, grabbing everyones attention.

I was honored by being selected to do one of the last Friction Labs ever on the BBC Asian Network - Bobby Friction Show. I was given a track, Pani Da Rang, composed by Ayushmann Khurrana and Rochak Kohli for the movie Vicky Donor. This song won "Hottest Song of the Year 2012" at the Global Indian Music Awards.

Extremely proud to present Surrey's very own @khanvict with his debut EP "Kahani". Throughout its five tracks, "Kahani" sweeps the listener into the magic of its rich soundscapes, complete with mesmerizing vocals, unique instrumentals, and modern bass elements. Khanvict weaves an intricate tale throughout the collection of tracks, beginning with the slowly burning "Abandon," to one of the standout gems of the EP - " Safar," a cinematic, vibrant and groovy piece featuring a dream collaboration with talented violinist/instrumentalist Raaginder. Each track is either dancefloor-friendly, such as the bass-and-vocal heavy "Turiya Turiya," or emotionally appealing like the sultry and expressive "Frozen." With what is undoubtedly one of the most unique sounds out there right now, we can't wait to see where Khanvict leads us next.

Following his debut 2019 EP Kahani, this remix EP highlight's the biggest track off the release, Turiya Turiya. Based on a sample of an old Punjabi folk song, "Turiya Turiya Remixes" shines a light on Khanvict's community - and some of the most important names in South Asian pop / electronic music at the moment: Sanjoy (LA), ShiShi (NY), Skinny Local (Surrey) and Kryogen (Surrey). Timed to coincide with the release of the video for "Turiya Turiya", this larger than life remix EP is made for the dance floor.
