"The title track of the release, 'Optical Sliding' doesn't give you much time to breathe. Quickly, the sounds tease your ears as the drums pick up, then, we see an absolute skanker take place. Constantly creating switch ups in the mix, we hear Jones still maintaining the minimalism and mood throughout. An evil chuckle visits in increments on the song, making sure you are paying attention in those awkward spaces. It should be added that 'Optical Sliding' is a 2 drop showcase, with many variations of the sub bass, and is well-worth the full listen."

"It's everyone's favorite game! Can you name a weird place to find a foot? A recognizable cackle, looped in a capturing, voodoo fashion, jump-starts the release. Early on, we are met with a wall of alien subs, scaling up and down in the creepiest manner. We see the song progress into tricky variations, ultimately relaxing with a crawling-on-the-ground bassline. 'Weird Place to Find a Foot?' is to the point, which is hard to understand due to such an unusual title. Regardless, this one is asking you to get out of your comfort zone."

Bad Luck Club was built with an outside-the-box approach in mind from the very beginning. As our network continues to grow and we connect with more and more likeminded artists, we have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the creative minds these artists put toward the musical craft they work to perfect day in and day out.

Trip Fox is a fresh face to the Bad Luck Club family representing the sunny state of Texas. With a couple years of production under his belt, we are just beginning to see the rise in quality and quantity of his releases in 2020 and were super stoked to connect and partner up with him this year.

Pushing a psychedelic sound that defies all boundaries in the bass music category, 'Trust Me' is a great example of the experimentation we hope to extract out of the artists we work with. Uncovering some of the trippiest sounds we've experienced in the last few months, the track has a hypnotizing element to it that can only be solved by running it back to experience all over again. We have a feeling Trip Fox is only scratching the surface of his creativity with this one...keep your eyes peeled 👀

If you've been following us for a bit you understand the weird and wonky sounds we look to explore and uncover, one track at a time. If this is your first dive into the world of BLC, buckle your seatbelt because this one is about to throw you for a loop.

We connected with EYE10 a few weeks back with a mutual appreciation for out-of-the-box originality and an ear for experimental greatness. Hailing from Lafayette, LA, it was apparent that we were creating on similar wavelengths after checking out his collection of releases spanning the landscape of left field sounds.

"GUMGUMFRUIT" is a direct translation of EYE10's creative mindset, executed flawlessly as he pushes and pulls the folds of your brain with a sense of curiosity. His ability to take a deep dive outside of usual song constructs and create something unique to his sound is a beautiful thing and something we encourage all artists we work with to seek out. As we continue to dig into the wild west of bad luck, we appreciate artists like EYE10 that allow us to push the idea of "music" to new heights and put a spotlight on underground sounds.
