Retaliation is the 1st song of 'The Meat in the Grinder'-album. What started as a mid-paced hardcore track (cfr. Cro-Mags – We gotta know intro) grew towards a multi layered piece of music, adding vocal harmonies, black metal screams, slow arpeggio’s, techno-keys and samples. Alternative punk in layers, like an underground version of The Cure on alternative metal. Our protagonist wakes up brooding over revenge. Will his Christian upbringing prevent him from the execution of his confused thoughts or will he just make one exception and ask for forgiveness later on. Sounds like a Nick Cave Biblical theme right? Enjoy!

Brace yourself for a brief yet intense hardcore anthem layered with relentless feedback guitars, sampled female voices and synth noise. The pulsating electro beat in the classic mosh section delivers a fusion of raw energy and electronic finesse. Surprisingly, the chords in this part seem tightly connected to those of the timeless 'Your Mistake' by Agnostic Front. Stolen? Nah, Kim Wilde had already planted the seed in 1981 with that unforgettable 'la la la la la lala' bridge in 'Kids in America.'

And our protagonist? Well, amid the chaos, he seeks solace and reflection in the present moment. Spoiler alert: tranquility proves elusive as the song becomes a mirror reflecting his heightened state of mind.

The warm colors of the cover couldn't contrast more starkly with the icy sounds of "Espoir Fragmenté," a dark collage symbolizing the shattered hope of its protagonist. You don't have to listen to it, and delicate souls would be better off abstaining. It's a riotous eruption of noise, industrial black metal, French chanson, crust punk, and even classical. But none of this stops us from hoping together for a beautiful spring...

Het Fluitenierkoninginsmassakker (the queen wasp massacre) is a dark piece of gloom and doom, taking influences from gothic, doom and black metal. You will hear distorted bass synths, vocal harmonies, black metal shrieks and a kind of slow Joe Santiago (Pixies) lead guitar whilst the chorus might remind you of a dirty distorted glampunk version of Dead Boys or The Damned. The end starts promising with a thrashy intro but soon – it’s dark after all -  falls back in mid-tempo disharmonic chords with twisted airy vocals and even a funky, post-punk ending. The song reflects an inner state of paranoia and fear. It’s unclear if the main character is tripping on designer drugs and/or victimized by a beautiful girl for the wrong cause.

Snapklone Society is a DIY-band from the region of Aalst, Belgium.

‘Weapons of Mass Salvation’ was self-released in December 2008 and got positive reviews (average score: 80) The album is now out of print and the band went on hiatus.

Vidi went on with Kreationist.

Lucas Headtrip took a fresh start with SKS and recorded a new album titled ‘The Meat in the Grinder’.
