This album is the result of two persons with tons of respect for one another musically, two musicians who have been floating past and sometimes in two each others projects for the last couple of years.

Neud Photo (Nico Nightingale) has been on a tear lately and this latest offering for Mysidian shows up as his most dark and menacing. The electro meets techno sound we know him for is still prevalent but the amnesia-inducing 'Dreamz' carries thumping EBM and New Beat influences as well. R&S meets Subway meets Mute. 
While each track plays on it's own themes independently with tasteful vocal samples and industrial energy, the thing they all have in common is obvious. 
They completely satisfy aural wishes excited during the day which remain unrealized. They are simply and undisguisedly realizations of wishes.

Shcuro is the alias of João Ervedosa a DJ, producer and graphic designer based in Lisbon. He also runs the record labels Sombra and Paraíso,  makes music as Jose Acid and hosts a show on Rádio Quântica. His first contact with a DJ setup happened at age 15, and that’s when Shcuro decided to buy his own turntables and mixer; and started producing his own beats, too. He’s since released music on Basal, Circus Maximus, Obscuur Techno, Golden Mist Records and his most recent collaboration with Photonz for Future Déjà Vu.
‘Particle of Memory’ is a hypnotic 6-track EP that explores new territories in contemporary dance music. Sonically Shcuro paints his sounds blending moody techno with industrial noises alongside fast, apocalyptic electro and breakbeat. He is influenced by Portuguese rave culture that was born in the mid-90s at Lisbon clubs Alcântara-Mar and Kremlin and the country’s first electronic label Kaos Records. Shcuro continues to expand and morph this rich dance heritage to create something entirely different. The bouncy, lead track “Afterlife” features vocals and lyrics by London's ELLES followed by a Decadent Dub rework. All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. Housed in a die-cut jacket designed by Eloise Leigh reminiscent of ‘90s escape/sci-fi films with futuristic bright pink pop flourishes.

Shcuro - Afterlife (featuring ELLES)

For no particular reason this one became a new dunkeltier edit after a long pause.
Blaze is NY Garage as it's best, however Garage isn't the sound of now.
I rather became interested in those strings which only shortly appeared in the later part of the original.
I enlengthened the 'DJ-intro' in a usual manner and replaced each chorus by the string motive concluding the edit in a new final by doubling the string loop resulting in nice dirty drum phasing.
By that I avoided the ground shaking vocal gospel chorus, which simply isn't my cup of tea.

As Motown had a different sound in mind back in 1990 as today's party people I widened the stereo effect and after the double tracking I had to handle the dynamics anyway - so I did.

The self-irony at 3.00 always brings a smile on my face. Enjoy!

Blaze - So Special (SNEAKER'S SPECIAL EDIT)

They sat around the television, eyes glued to the national broadcast. A few moments later it concluded but they were no wiser than before. Little to no information had been shared, the guidance they'd been waiting for nowhere to be seen. But were they surprised? Empty promises had always been the dish of the day. The system was well and truly broken, and seemingly nobody was taking on the responsibility to fix it. 

Since their inaugural release in 2017 from Ecotone, Dutch label Rotterdam Electronix have been serving up the best in electro and techno. They followed up the first EP with outings from the likes of Betek, Discipline and their last breakbeat fuelled release from Prague duo Fractions. Taking control of the eighth on the label is modular enthusiast Crossover Network who works together sluggish rhythms, drones and driving bass for a soundtrack to a dystopian future.
