I wanted to practice writing some basic hip-hop beats specifically making hi-hats sound fun and interesting without stealing the show, and start learning to how to best utilize 808s. It's fun, but will need some more variations to really be a complete track.

I've wanted to start making music for a very long time and have finally started my journey. I still have a lot to learn, especially about musical theory itself. But this felt like a great exercise in familiarizing myself with my DAW and trying new things like vocal sampling, and trying to create presets in the FM synth DX10. This was a lot of fun to make and  hope to continue to create as I learn more and more.
