Sneaky Music's own Ranacat makes his debut release on the label with 'I Want a Better You'. Built around a pounding kick and deep, sentimental strings, the Berlin-based producer references a late 90s deep house sound while also taking influence from more current club sounds. Ray Okpara of Mobilee and AMA's percussive, bass driven remix takes the track in a tech house direction. The captivating groove of the bassline makes this remix a guaranteed dancefloorwinner. Greek producer Echonomist spices things up with his Afro Dub mix. With frantic congas in tandem with mind bending effects this rhythmic number is engineered for peak time madness in the club. At the other end of the spectrum lies Steve Cook's remix. The Englishman takes things slower, with an infectious acid bassline and lush pads constructing a tripped out, day time banger.

2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

Bondage Music continues its ‘Home (Remixes)' package this July with part three, featuring Sven Tasnadi, Pablo Bolivar, Martin Aquino and more. Mihai Popoviciu: "The album's called "Home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home." With ‘Home' gaining the attention and picking up support from the likes of Ryan Crosson, Luciano and Cesar Merveille, the Bondage-Music team now welcome to an array of talent to the label for 2017 as the LP is deconstructed and reworked across four brand new packages. Across the remix package Pablo Bolivar turns in a sun drenched acid-tinged take on ‘Sandstone', Frink strips back ‘Hypnosia' to a raw groove-led vibe and Martin Aquino dubs out ‘Sunshine' with swirling chords. Sven Tasnadi offers up a heady interpretation of ‘Music 999' to follow fuelled by stuttering vocals, stab sequences and a bumpy drum workout before Schlepp Geist & Krink's remix of ACK closes the package on a dark and brooding tip.
