The Legion Of Doom. The Bushwackers. The Rockers. The Hart Foundation. There have been many great duos bulldozing their way to fame in the ring before – and now Kublai and Minor Forms are intent on doing it on the Drum & Bass canvas too. 

Seemingly sitting on a never ending stock of quality music, this pair of prolific young producers link up once again on CIA, but this time for a slew of collaborative tracks, on the Future Motion EP. Slowly but surely crafting their own niche in a saturated scene, the pair are able to meld depth, musicality and bassweight in a prodigious style that’s seeing them build an impressive discography. 

Comprised of four quality cuts, the Future Motion EP shows the pairs ability to turn their hand to a range of sounds and styles. From deep rollers, stepped out modern jungle and drum break workouts, Kublai and Minor Forms once again prove that they are becoming a force to be reckoned with on their latest CIA outing.

This is the 4th volume of the 'Boundless Selects' series. After a poll on instagram I decided to record a jungle/breaks/hardcore special, a genre of music I've been obsessed with over the last year or so.

I haven't bopped around my room so much recording a mix in a long time :) This one's a proper journey, listen on a run, or in the car, or anywhere but really take it in, we take you up level by level in this one.

I hope you enjoy listening half as much as I enjoyed putting it together. The biggest of ups <3

Proponents of techstep rejoice; Deception Recordings has remastered six tracks from the golden age of drum and bass, including two never-before-released cuts. For the first time, all six tracks will be universally accessible and available on digital platforms. Label boss Manifest provides the opening track, Never 2 Far (featuring Lisa Viva). Ethereal vocals, dystopian digital effects, dissonant pads, weighty 808s and crunchy breaks are the order of business here. This behemoth of a track still hits as hard as it did over 20 years ago. Inside My Soul comes courtesy of Outerlimits. Crisp and bouncy two-step drums are matched with moody vocals
and a thunderous bassline to create a dark, hypnotic, and fresh techy roller. Manifest returns with Dub War Pt. 1. Clash-ready ragga vocals pair with shuffling syncopated drums and an unrelenting slew off 808s. This one is a certified dancefloor damager.

Unreleased up until now, Manifest and Soulphonics are responsible for Oldskool. As the name suggests, musical references to the past abound. Think raw breaks, resampled pads, dubbed out effects, and booming 808s. Crunchy drums, jazzy Rhodes chords, and a rolling bassline form the backbone of 5 Boros (another track by Manifest) to create another quality techstep cut. The final track of the release, Dub War Pt. 2, is a grittier and uplifting take on Pt. 1. Also previously
unreleased, this weapon of a tune is now available for deployment in your own sets. Use with caution.

DJing since 1993 with his first Drum & Bass release in 1994 (Force Inc.), Based near Frankfurt, Germany, Mad Vibes is certainly not a newcomer. In 2001, he launched a Mastering Studio, working with artists such as Digital, A-Sides, Anthony Rother and more. In 2006, Tony established his own label, Sidechain-Music, and became a Resident DJ for the renowned Sun and Bass Festival, a role he has held down since then. Over time, Mad Vibes' music has been featured on various labels including Function, Dispatch, Formation, Ghetto Dubs with more big releases in the works. Backlash Records is thrilled to welcome this experienced frequency juggler to the family with a powerful four-track EP. The title track, ‘The Clash’, is uncompromising, with hard-hitting amens, a nasty Reese, and strong Lowe frequencies set to light up any dnb dance. 'Waterfall' rolls smoothly, paying homage to the early L Plates and Function Records sound, featuring a catchy hook, rhythmic drums, and resonating sub-bass.
