Metroid Remixes

World 1-2 is an album that features renowned game composers alongside the remixers that pay them tribute. It features original music by grammy-nominated Austin Wintory (Journey), Manami Matsumae (MegaMan), and celebrated remixers Stemage and Danimal Cannon (Metroid Metal), among many more. 

World 1-2 is a music project directed and produced by Mohammed Taher of Koopa Soundworks. It's a collaboration album that combines young independent musicians with superstar composers from the video game industry. World 1-2 features a unique blend of original creations and nostalgia-dipped remixes. All proceeds generated from this album will go toward funding new projects by Koopa Soundworks. We hope you enjoy World 1-2 as much as we enjoyed making it!

Perhaps one of the most sophisticated, beautiful pieces introduced into the Mario franchise, and we've only known it for a few days.

I noticed the piece sounded a bit tropical, between the salsa piano rhythms and similarities to Kondo's Sunshine Seaside - I decided to try and emphasize that feel with this semi-cover, semi-remix, semi-arrangement...

A reimagination, maybe. Like Odyssey itself is for our favorite red-capped plumber.

Metroid Prime is a wonderful game with a phenomenal soundtrack, so I would totally be up to doing more covers like this sometime.

I also didn't even realize until I started writing this description, but I suppose it's rather coincidental I uploaded this after the E3 reveal of Metroid Prime 4. I didn't plan this, I swear ^^;

All recent music was composed (or covered) using Rytmik Studio, or Rytmik Ultimate (a bit older, though I've re-rendered all the songs in Studio recently).  I pick songs just because I like them and recreating them is relaxing.

Some of the music here (some of the older stuff posted here) is made with Starbound Composer, for a my songpack built for a game called Starbound. The songs posted here are just examples for how the tracks would sound in-game.
