"We created this piece in 48 hrs like whatever..."


The world traveling, organic food growing, disc golfing rapper SniperShot teams up with the young pianist, composer, rapping prodigy, Maverick Lawson to create "Whatever...". We created this piece in 48 hrs like whatever... Many of the songs were created and recorded outside at Snipes Oak Cliff compound surrounded by raised beds growing food and giant sunflowers (that pop up on their own never planted one lol). All songs are produced by Maverick. Some of the beats Mav already had on his computer like Varp. Other songs we created on the spot in the garden. For instance, Snipes thought it would be cool to use some pretty acoustic guitar on a song, so Mav grabbed his guitar and we created "Sunshine Fuck You". The song Interrupted, was created during a pineal expansion medicinal phase of the adventure in the home studio at night.
During the mixing of the project, we intentionally kept the project as raw as possible. Inspired by a song Mav introduced Snipes to from the 90's that is recorded very raw, and later the artist or label went back and put out a remastered version and it lost some of its human emotional feeling aspect that sounds so good in the original version. For Snipes, it really brings him back to the feeling of a freestyle cypher or the mixtapes he used to make in college down in Austin with DJ Dirk Diggla. Just raw rapping over beats, not over thinking anything, keeping it simple and gritty. We love how raw the sound is on this project and wanted to keep that integrity during the mixing process.
We recorded this project 6 months ago right before the solar eclipse and right after the lunar eclipse. Every 6 months there is an energetic opening in the astral body of the Earth. This lets new energies come in and lets old energies go out. Today we have a harvest supermoon lunar eclipse. This week, and especially during the eclipse (7:41 pm CDT), we may experience the presence of love in our lives in many ways, such as healing, revelation, recognition, harmony, or others. The eclipse starts tonight at 7:41 pm CDT, partial eclipse begins at 9:12, greatest eclipse stage being seen at 9:44, and will end at 11:47. This is our Lunar Eclipse gift to you. Let this be this year's eclipse season soundtrack for you, because in 2 weeks we have the last solar eclipse of the year. Wishing you open ears, minds, and hearts for a fuller experience of ourselves and life than our current worldview has taught us!
