The second release before the upcoming mighty new Sven Väth album “Catharsis” gives you another hint at what ́s coming at you! Let us tell you, we couldn ́t be more excited for everyone to finally experience Sven ́s new masterpiece!
But before we unleash the beast, we decided to release a second single. This time containing two absolute highlight tracks. If you have heard Sven playing in the past months, you will recognize both, as they were pivotal moments in almost every set!
First up we have “Mystic Voices“, a track that was created during the early stages of the album production with Sven gathering ideas and words to finally record the unmistakable vocals during a hectic tour through India, and Gregor spending days and nights on the other side of the planet in his studio to process the stream of inspiration. When the two finally sat down together in the studio, the track emerged quickly. Some would call the instant vibe that magic that every creative mind is longing to find.
“Butoh” is a raw and dark force, influenced by Japanese dance, an art form that deeply touched Sven during his travels on Nippon Island. It ́s an otherworldly sounding track, still based in the Techno Realm but heavily twisted by a long break that introduces Japanese percussions that eventually get topped by the haunting vocals of Cana Hatsushiba.

Berlin’s CAMEA is back on Speicher and this time she brought backup: THE REASON Y has made some waves with his releases on Pan Pot’s Second State imprint. Together they deliver two heavy no frills techno cuts that feature earth-rattling basslines, sirens, psychedelic sequences and everything else you need for a cultivated night out.

The man, the myth, the legend Alec Troniq is back on SNOE with some new shenanigans! “Wisenheimer” is the word for a know-it-all and brings the perfect attitude for dealing with these. Alec is known and loved for his gritty synths and driving grooves, packed with odd elements and clever constructed twists. And that is exactly what we get here. A naughty dancefloor groover with fierce energy. 

With us on remix duties is our favourite Fin, Reginald. Per usual, this guy is not here to mess around. Excellently working with the original elements but moulding them into his own dark soundscape of percussive tornadoes and dreamy synths, Reginald creates a beast of a tune, hitting the core of the new nordic techno. 

It is wild, it is dark and filled with drive. Enjoy these two phenomenally dark and delightful tracks.

Alec Troniq - Wisenheimer (Reginald Remix)

And we are back with our second SNOEflakes of the year, the lucky SNOEflake nr. 13! This little groove-loaded package is exactly what you need for the summer. First off, Lars Moston is joining the SNOEfamily with his incredible tune “Where We Breathe”. This is a fierce track that shakes the ground with its one-off powerful and bouncy bassline. Lars puts his unique skills to work, serving us a driving groove, rough vocals and popping synths. It is the perfect statement track for the club. 

Secondly we are very excited to welcome back our dear friend Boneb to the label. This master of grooves serves us his new track “Get Dirty” with tons of coolness. In classic Boneb-style, the track carries a heavy bassline and perky percussions that push and pull along the vocal elements. It is a tune packed with attitude and grit, just as we like it. 

Two heavy-hitting, bass-spitting tracks destined to be heard on those big speakers. Let’s go!

Returning to Items & Things with his first solo EP for the label since October 2011ʼs “VoodooVoodoo”, label head Troy Pierce presents “Softcore”, a four track EP featuring two original productions alongside remixes of title track “Softcore” from Bristol-based producer Dubspeeka and French DJ/producer Chloé.

A pioneer of the darker side of electronic experimentation, Troy’s A-side “Softcore” is anything but: a haunting, chugging peak-time production with a music DNA consisting of twisted strands of EBM, techno, and industrial, with a hint of dub thrown in for good measure. B-side “The Dangers With Strangers” is an equally powerful effort; its depraved machine funk and distorted tales of strangers provide a visceral exploration into the depths of hedonism.

Having debuted with a release on Oliver Huntemannʼs Ideal Audio label, elusive Bristol producer Dubspeeka (perhaps more famously known as one part of British group Kosheen) delivers a stripped down yet driven interpretation of Troy’s original, reinforcing the reasons why his productions have been exciting a number of the techno elite over the past year. Chloé - a recent addition to the Items & Things Booking Agency - needs little introduction. Typically poised between genres and aesthetics, the Kill The DJ founder and ex-Pulp resident rounds off proceedings with a remix that is as atmospheric as it is club-suitable, a reflection of her unique eclecticism that couldn’t be more at home than with Items & Things.

<p>Sweden&#8217;s influence on modern Techno can never be overrated. Over the past twenty years the ever growing band of dedicated artists emerging from the country have each played a huge part in the global growth and development of the sound. Stockholm&#8217;s Joel Mull is one of the key and original members of the country&#8217;s musical militia. Known for his dynamic and often marathon DJ sets and his impressive releases for the likes of Music Man, Cocoon, Kanzleramt and Drumcode, the DJ/Producer is steeped in Techno history. Today though he again proves his eyes, and ears, are looking firmly to future with his latest work and debut release for Nicole Moudaber&#8217;s MOOD imprint. </p>

<p>The Three track Wind It Up EP again highlights Joel&#8217;s love and skill for crafting atmospheric and harmonic techno. The Waiting&#8217;s powerful kick drum is governed by its beautifully intergalactic breakdown, before Wind It Up&#8217;s marching groove is bathed in swirling synths. The EP is closed by the industrial roller Geodesi, with its ethereal guitar riff.</p>

PREMIERE : Reginald - A Sun That He Carried With Him

TEETHY has a brand new release landing next week and jammed full of killer dancefloor heaters. Talented electronic musician, producer, and remix artist Niklas Wiik, professionally known as Reginald, drops 4  amazing tracks on his release titled NEVER ENDING VIBE. 

In 2022, Reginald released his career-changing debut album ‘Why Can’t We All Be Friends’, which featured collaborations with a global range of artists including Wongo, Steve Darko, Danny Goliger and GetCosy, to name but a few.

 

Reginald’s versatility and range as an artist is evident in his diverse body of work, which covers various styles including heavy pounding techno, bass-driven tech house, breaks, garage, and electro. He describes his sound as “addictively groovy, seriously not so serious with beautiful moments of relief and respectfully energetic.” He draws inspiration from the UK’s garage scene, Chicago club style, Detroit electro, Berlin techno, and old school breaks, as he believes that “sound is limitless, so why should anyone keep it simple?”
