Hopeless is a roleshift AU inspired by the harsh aesthetic of Underfell. The harshness of the character's personalities altered the events following the human-monster conflict, leading to an underground riddled with disarray. That said, at their core everyone is still the classic characters you know and love, even if it's a little harder to see that than usual.
That said, similar to Underfell, Hopeless follows a sort of "inverted morality" system, which is why the usually more power-hungry Gaster is actually one of the friendliest members of the cast.

On that note, Gaster takes the role of Sans. This is a much friendlier Gaster. He's still a devoted scientist, but his experiments are much safer, and are purely for the benefit of monsterkind. He never fell into any sort of creation, and is not corrupted in any sense.

Hopeless headcanons that Gaster's Theme is as short as it is because it is only a fragment of Gaster, due to him being spread across time and space. So this song attempts to turn Gaster's Theme into a "complete" song. Also yes, Gaster's gimmick is that each individual line of text has a multiple of three for the amount of words (usually 3 words or 6 words).

Man, when was the last time I randomly made a UT AU theme aside from anything Underswap-related? Oh well, 2020 Moon gotta reel back into the limelight to sow the Undertale nostalgia across the world. Anyway this track was specially requested by some spectator and I figured I should give my best shot on this one along with the "Fallen Down (+ Reprise)" replacement for good measure (which will be uploaded after this). I've sworn an oath that I shall compose more Undertale AU themes, devotedly!

Anyways, you might be wondering who's in the role of Asgore. That's right! It's not Mettaton, it's the trans icon herself, Lady Maddy! [Mad Dummy/Mew Mew] In terms of music, both the Toriel role and the Asgore role shares the same leitmotif which works quite perfectly for Napstablook!Toriel and Mad Dummy!Asgore. "What does this make Mettaton then?" Well, he's the fallen angel of the story!

Undyne has long accepted that the best way to resolve conflict is not through violence, but rather through talking things out. To make sure Oliver knows the basics of fighting without fighting, she quickly improvises a training battle against an Echo Flower. 

Given how quickly she improvised this, however, she doesn’t realize until the training battle has already started, that this particular Echo Flower has been possessed by Rune (the Ruins Dummy ghost), who stays quiet through all of this, rather than echoing Oliver’s words the way an Echo Flower typically would.

When Oliver comes across a stressed-out, exhausted Toriel who's had to deal with more than a handful of human kids swarming around, something of a dream-turned-nightmare for Toriel, it's clear she isn't thinking straight. She initiates battle as a result of a mental spiral she "speedruns", almost as if going through the five stages of grief in reverse in 5 seconds.

Oliver's task is to talk Toriel through this mental breakdown, to get her to calm down long enough and to get her grounded long enough for her to process things healthily again.

Aftergore is a series of AUs taking place after Undertale's neutral endings, in which a new human enters in Frisk's wake.
Aftergore CDIV, the Impossible/Dirty Hacker ending, details an ending in which a curious player messes with code to make a certain boss both dead and alive at the same time. The results are...illogical. Humans are to be treated as threats to the timeline above all else, and that is a crime punishable by death.
If you're curious on the AU name, all the Aftergores are numbered with Roman numerals. "CDIV" translates to "404."

Alphys takes the role of Papyrus. She and Sans are working together to try and crack the code-- what exactly got this timeline to be so messy? They know humans are somehow involved, so when Nex falls down, they'll have to tread with care.

Aftergore is a series of AUs taking place after Undertale's neutral endings, in which a new human enters in Frisk's wake.
Aftergore I, the Incomplete/Flawed Pacifist ending, details an ending in which everyone (except for Asgore) was spared and befriended. Toriel has taken her ex-husband's place, ruling the Underground with both strictness and kindness. Humans are to be treated not as enemies, but as friends.

Flowey takes the role of Toriel. After being spared by Frisk, he's been doing a lot of soul searching (no pun intended). He's hidden away in the Ruins, which is now overgrown with vegetation and fear. He might be turning over a new leaf (again, no pun intended), but it's hard to let go of the fearsome persona he has worked so hard to build. Could he ever truly qualify as a "caretaker?"

Ok so let's get some things out of the way.
Despite the name and motif, it does not replace the Undertale track "You Idiot."
Despite the ambience, it does not replace "Ooo," either.
If you've played through Undertale, you might remember that a spooky ambience plays in Toriel's basement, as she tries to explain to you why you can't leave. THAT is what this replaces.
