Worked on this 1 year ago...it was the first attempt to record after rough track selection and bit preparation for marking the perfect starting points. Normally still not final yet and also a beatport hold bin still waiting since 1 year to get on my HD and in the mix...but no time for music and also in the coming months noootzzziiiing. Recorded December 1999 

Recorded over twenty four years ago in a kitchen in Leigh-On-Sea, Essex was the first promo mix recorded for Stripped which had just started with a couple of local parties and six years before the birth of stripped music management and its record labels Stripped Recordings, Stripped Digital. In fact the label Coldtap Recordings came first (2000-2005). 

The mix was a snapshot of what was being played at the parties at that time.

This can get you more in tune with your feelings and emotions, helping you begin to express yourself.

@somerleds is a selector and DJ hailing from Wellington, New Zealand.

He first got turned on to electronic music in the very early 1990s when passed a UK
hardcore cassette in the halls of Wellington College. He then immersed himself in all things
electronic seeking out warehouse raves and outdoor festivals where futuristic soundscapes
from Goa trance to German techno were unleashed upon the ravers.

Somerled's influences have evolved from these early days to now include anything on the
spectrum of electronica from acid house to progressive trance to drum and bass. With many
up and coming producers re-framing the original sounds of the 90s with vastly improved
production tools and techniques, Somerled is now inspired to go back to his roots and mix
tracks close to his heart.

In this specially curated set for the Xpress Yourself series, Somerled takes the listener on a
journey from break-beat beginnings with soulful vocals through acid house and then leads
you deep into the jungle.

Welcome to Sonic Interlude Vol. 01

My romance with electronic music has not been a long one, in a short space of time I fell in love with great storytelling and have dedicated my time to working on that and finding my own voice amongst the many incredible DJs out there. 

This is an evolution of my style - for this particular mix I have focused on a simple strategy of a slow build with a punchy peak. This is a selection of very recently acquired tracks, many are more vintage now - all new music for me.

Biography:
Norman H is the owner and A&R for Stripped Music Management
which has been running since September 2005. 
Stripped was formed in September 1999 in Essex, England  as a club night. The record labels followed in September 2005. The nights have started up again with two successful shows in Mexico City and more to come. 
Stripped Recordings and Stripped Digital are all under his
wing alongside Australian singer / songwriter Shane Blackshaw. As
well as running Stripped he is also a dj who has managed to play in
several countries aroundthe globe including USA, Mexico, Thailand,
Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jamacia in the last year. He looks to
continue travelling to spread the Stripped word to as many like-minded
souls as possibly without hardly a pause for breath. As well as this he
has his own releases forthcoming on his flagship label Stripped
Recordings both with vocalists Julie Mintz (of Moby's backing
band)and the aforementioned Shane Blackshaw. Plus remix projects
and Original tracks are all in the pipeline.---
