Following the explosive launch of Social Experiment Records' with the inaugural release delivered by the infamous DJ Qu, Jonny White looks to long time friend and fellow Toronto native Jonathan Lee to fulfill high expectations.

Opening up the ep is Parallel Gardens, a 4 to the floor brooding techno stomper with Whispering vocals and spacious sprinkles of Mind bending effects which transport you from the dance floor to another dimension.

Next up is Exit To Eden, a heavy bass driven concoction with drenched in a fog of airy pad's, giving it some breathing room between each cadence this killer cut has to offer.

Closing out the Ep is Portal Ten, a gritty, energizing affair and a DC10 Favourite this past season - now ready to find its way into dj bags across the globe.

The Social Experiment label returns with another standout release, this time from esteemed UK techno artist Billy Turner.

In a few short years Turner has built a solid fan base around the world, with his music finding its way into the record bags of the likes of Daniel Avery, Laurent Garnier and Adam Beyer thanks to a series of powerful releases on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, Tiga’s Twin Turbo and Drumcode’s vinyl-only offshoot DC LTD. Radio 1 support and Rinse FM guest shows have showcased his mature, visceral techno, and in the process have helped make him one of the hottest rising talents in the game right now.

First up, ‘Wake’ is a brilliantly atmospheric and scene-setting tool that is sure to become a popular set opener. A real sense of suspense and eeriness rises from the drifting alien soundscapes and foreboding pads providing a perfect introduction to the EP. The absorbing ‘Flush’ then gets straight to business with a serene, Detroit-style techno groove; it’s deep and enveloping with warm, soulful pads and effortless hypnotism in the drums all underpinned by rumbling, menacing bass.

Keeping up the quality, ‘Natural’ is a more angular and textured track, with edgy industrial synths rising and falling throughout as restless drums power onwards. It’s designed to fill vast spaces with sound and oozes the sort of all-consuming atmosphere that really makes an impact. Finishing off in style, ‘Downwards’ is the most powerful of the lot, with hunched kick drums demanding you dance and cosmic life forms evolving in the airwaves above. It’s a real techno journey that takes you to a different world in stylish and cinematic fashion.

The revered recording artist who has released some of the most sought after records on labels like Method 11:11 in the 90’s now returns to fellow Canadian Jonny White’s Social Experiment label with 3 cuts that show just why he’s remained such an enigmatic figure amongst the industry nearly 20 years later.

For the past 7 years, "Social Experiment" has been the name of Jonny White’s internationally acclaimed series of Social Experiment showcases that have been an essential brand for the worlds top clubs and music festivals since it’s inception. From instalments in Panorama Bar and Fabric to DC10, these events have set the tone for a new project and new sound that White plans to concentrate his latest efforts on. The new catalogue promises to focus on a raw, dubby, industrial and brooding style of techno, a direction that has been transparent in Art Department shows as of late with much of the early catalogue being present in his sets.

This newly inspired project has also been launched as a partnership with hometown friends Nitin and former Art Department band-mate Kenny Glasgow in support of an issue very close to their hearts—animal rights. White has recently begun work on a charity project with long time friend and Pulse Radio founder Wade Cawood - called MAAC (Music Against Animal Cruelty). The charity will act as a fund with plans to galvanize the support of the electronic music industry and to help raise money to protect African wildlife facing the threat of diminishing population or extinction.
