Oggi vi vogliamo raccontare la storia di un luogo caro alla nostra città: il Monte della Croce. 
I sambenedettesi in passato si ritrovavano proprio qui, desiderosi di passare belle giornate in compagnia e condividere momenti di spensieratezza. Il monte della croce però, era anche una meta di pellegrinaggio e un punto di riferimento per i tantissimi marinai che rientravano al porto. Negli ultimi anni questo luogo è stato un po' dimenticato, ma attraverso il nostro racconto vogliamo farvi riscoprire la meraviglia che si cela dietro questa croce. Le cose belle non vanno dimenticate...fanno parte della nostra storia e della tradizione!

UNA CULTURA MILLENARIA: Le Radici Cristiane Dell'Europa

Fin dai tempi più antichi Europa e Islam si sono scontrati. 
Basti pensare agli attacchi del '700 poi sventati dai Franchi, ai tentativi di espansione olalla famosa battaglia di Lepanto.  
Oggi è possibile un incontro tra il mondo islamico e l'Europa cristiana? 
Nel discorso del Papa emerito Benedetto XVI, possiamo leggere che il terreno comune di questo incontro non è la religione, ma la legge naturale comune a tutti gli uomini in quanto esseri razionali indirizzati al bene. 
È anche interessante come, in un dialogo fra l'imperatore Manuele II e un colto persiano, si sia affermato che: "Non è necessario disporre né del proprio braccio, né di strumenti per colpire, né di qualunque altro mezzo con cui si possa minacciare una persona di morte (...) ma della capacità di parlare bene e di ragionare correttamente, non invece della violenza e della minaccia."
