SevenDoors is a new producer from the UK. When we heard his first demo tracks we directly signed them. VOID has been working in our sets like magic. FORGET YOU is an updated rework of VI by MUSUMECI (with friendly permission from the artist) which has become a secret weapon for Solomun. Both tracks were world premiered by Pete Tong at BBC Radio 1. With an upcoming record on Diynamic, a remix for Pete Tongs label FFRR and plenty of stuff in the pipeline you will surely hear much more from SevenDoors in the future.

Oliver Huntemann always delivers - especially on his own Senso imprint. After two decades at the forefront of the European scene, to see his name on a record gua- rantees deep and deeply accomplished techno with a precise, refined production and high-definition details.
Both tunes on this double-header live up to the billing. 'Pech' is a masterclass in the selection and combination of tone, texture and the thoughtful treatments applied to them. A long two-minute build paves the way for a sustained bass tone that teases the listener with well-timed pitch bends. Elements unfold and flower organically as the tune reaches its climax of dancing synth lines.
'Schwefel' takes a voyage into more eerie territory, full of echo and distant music- box pings. Huntemann balances these delicate melodic sounds with gritty synth repetitions that finally win the day to deliver a surging, stirring and deeply memo- rable roller.

Worst Case aka Tony Casanova & Joshua Jesse's “Rocket” EP comes at us with two hard hitting originals and three reworks anchoring on the talents of some of the finest producers around at the moment.

“Rocket” opens up swiftly with an effervescent bustle, as the groove is slowly built up through ascending synth leads. The ear catching leit-motif though is an insurgent guitar sample, reminiscent of 70s power solos. Despite the overall oldschool flavour of the track, we’re quickly reintroduced to present day soundscapes, as we reach its peak point. Surprisingly enough, the tension is smoothly resolved and the original dynamic is reverted.

Centered on a setup of layered vocals, “General Opinion” offers an upbeat groove from the get go, bolstered by a carefully crafted array of ascending whizzes, tribal roars and clattering bells. Distant cut-outs of the vocals create a spacious and relaxed outro, unwinding to a full stop.

US sound traveler Clint Steward revamps “Rocket”, building up anticipation through percussive slabs. Promptly triggered cavernous bass snippets enthrall and intrigue, as the ambiance morphs into that of an otherwordly sonic journey.

Niko Schwind injects his trademark oomph, giving “Rocket” some extra boost. Balancing sharp chops with subversive synth detonations, the piece gains even more fire to fuel the dancefloor.
From the other side of the globe, Aussie Murat Kilic reshapes the audio storyline in “General Opinion” to a progressive, uplifting affair peppered with sunken ringers. Still playing upon a vocal sample from the original cut, the track shows off a jagged edge, displaying a deeper and darker version rendition of the latter.

Nick Devon's most recent EP, 'Adrasteia', sends sounds of spatial seductiveness through speakers. This four track EP includes title track Adrasteia, Glacier, Devotion, and Sunflower.

'Adrasteia' contains flirtatious melodies which twinkle brightly by contrast against the dark, deep chords. An entire solar system on it's own, 'Adrasteia' is a new experience altogether. Inducing inspiration through this spacey track, Nick Devon pushes his ability to ingeniously craft beauty into sound.

'Glacier', a track fitting it's name, contains a subtle, siren-like sound accompanied by a tangle of percussions that create a sense of constant growth. Swelling ever bigger, larger, and more intense, this is a 'Glacier' you wouldn't wish to avoid on your journey.

Moving further into this musical journey, 'Devotion' plays on Nick Devon's ability to hit hard while softly caressing the atmosphere set around this EP. 'Devotion' is a perfect harmonization of different styles of techno, making it without a doubt, one of the most unique productions on this EP.

Finally, 'Sunflower' closes the EP through both an insanely emotional collection of sounds, as well as a sophisticated arrangement. 'Sunflower', perfectly matching it's title, turns happily to the lighter, more captivating sounds, while remaining firm in it's core and bass line. 

One not to be ignored or forgotten, Nick Devon consistently conveys his mastery at sound design through multiple arrangements and styles, all the while keeping his own touches consistent.

‘Glutes’ is peak-time material without being overly fast or chaotic, the energy instead coming from the transportive arrangement and emotive melodic content. The same can be said for Bäumel’s ‘Surge’ on Kompakt, an anthem in the sets of Tale Of Us last year which led to this release.

The title track rises and falls, surging with wide-sweeping synth notes and a steady rhythm to anchor the waves. An infectious refrain pulls you further in and, right on cue, the kick drum continues to beat the sweet spot. ‘Engage’ is filled with similarly subtle details, uplifting arpeggios and atmospheric reverb. Half-way through the melody bursts into life, shining brightly through the haze and creating one of those moments of release that make the Afterlife sound work so well on a dancefloor.
